No, they can’t. Where do you get this idea that most Americans have lots of extraeneous money sitting around to pay more for goods that they could get for less?

 

Americans managed to avoid starving in the streets before china began to take over our markets

 

a war with China is very unlikely,
unlike USSR and USA during cold war, both countries economy are tied together.
No major/super power ever had a hot war with a nuclear state.
The more power china have, the smaller chance US will goto war with them. remember what we call it, peace through strength.

Some people profit in times of war. It is up to the rest of us to keep them in check--and it's a major reason many tried to do so by voting for Trump.

 

Wars are not profitable for defense contractors any more. Because procurement (where the real money is) drops dramatically during active hostilities.

 

You can’t build thousands in a week.
Their nuke count doesn’t really matter - their logistical ability to project power far away from shores is very limited.
Again, fighting China in China is stupid and something no one can win, but fighting them where they need to deliver their soldiers is a totally different matter. Americans are the only ones in the world who can wage war very well outside of their homeland.

 

Actually I think most of you are missing the point about why China doesn't build thousands of nuclear warheads.

They have no intention of deterring a U.S. nuclear attack because they know that the U.S. will never launch a nuclear attack against them anyway.

Their nuclear arsenal is primarily about deterring the Russians who they have longstanding disputes that are never going to go away. And they have no faith in the Russians aversion to launching a nuclear attack if they see it as advantageous.
