Christian Values Lead to Happier Marriages

I was pointing out that happiness is not a state one can maintain. Contentment, OTOH, is.

 

Most normal people have no problem identifying happiness. There are people, however, who find rape or serial killing to be their happiness.

 

The question is whether the government is improving "happiness" by demanding that a woman carry the rapists baby to term, incurring the constant psychological damage as well as the social, educational, and economic costs of that assault.

It is NOT about whether the rapist is happy.

It's about the personal life and healthcare of an individual who has behaved in a fully legal manner.

No. I’m not against all medical procedures. I’m not against people being transgender either.

I am against judging people and making them feel like **** so my statement is not one of intolerance. I really just think that a lot mental distress is caused by not accepting facts. That doesn’t mean I think every single person who is transgender faces the same circumstances.

 

Yes, and one of the answers is that taking hormone treatments prior to full brain development can cause developmental issues.
At least that is what the psychologist I talked to told me. I didn’t look up any studies on it.

 

I can believe that there are improper uses of drugs, unknown risks to certified drugs, etc., in this and all fields of medicine. That's why we have an FDA that does continuous monitoring and testing even after testing safety and efficacy for specific uses.

I liked that you picked this one, as so many seem to think that transgender medical care means surgery - when it definitely does NOT.

True enough, but the other part of your point, was that only the individual can determine whether or not they are in a state of happiness, which I was also pointing out.

 

Within themselves, sure. And you can make guesses at other people, but you never know if they are putting on a front for you are not.

 

It was implied as such with a statement of "but I’m against people altering their biology through medication or surgery prior to full development in the late 20’s."

This is there are already facts out there about people who are transgender that opponents are not accepting. With that said, most of the transgender community is against any surgery until legal adulthood and are divided on the hormone blockers. Basically opponents are taking the 1% and treating as the 100%, since such surgeries to children rarely if ever happen.

 

You're not the first and you won't be the last, in both misreading a post and being misread.

 

I wouldn't think happiness is their motivation. These are seriously sick people. These actions are about power.

 

How will all the famous TV preachers & the Catholic Church find any immoral fun if they controlled their passions?

And what fun would Trump, Clarence Thomas, Kavanaugh, Roy Moore, Anthony Weiner, Matt Gaetz, and Dennis Hastert have if they had to control their immoral passions?
