He is free to do that anywhere but the country that killed 6 million people because of anti-semitism 70 years ago.

I defend his right to deny it...

    In this country...

But no... I took this to mean "you guys on the right". I apologize for being snippy if this was not your implicit meaning.

That wasn't my intention at all. Most of my friends are right-leaning and they (*)(*)(*)(*)ing hate David Duke. The whole former leader of the KKK thing puts them off pretty immediately.

So much for free speech there.

Spouting anti-semitism in a country that murdered millions of people simply because they were Jews is on par with shouting fire in a crowded theater.

There is no truly free speech anywhere. Some are more restrictive than others. We Americans guard our rights pretty jealously, some civilizations do not.

Duke shouldn't have gone there, or if he did, kept it a complete secret.

The best way to counter the argument is in an open intellectual discussion.

How can you have an intellectual discussion with people who deny the single most documented crime in history?

No one ever seems to question the Muslims when they engage in it in their mosques every week.

All Muslims deny the Holocaust? You have proof to back that up?

Ok... so you were only asking the people who were defending Dukes holocaust denial if they were defending Dukes holocaust denial... twice...

I feel silly now for inferring.

Duke's a civil rights icon as much as Hitler is a symbol for world peace.

Don't be absurd... in the late 1940s every Arab leader acknowledged the survivors of the Holocaust and expressed sympathy for their plight.

Not all icon's are on the side of good. Mr. Duke is an icon in the negative roll he played, the same one the Democrats played throughout history in opposing civil rights and voting rights.

No I meant what I said, the Dixiecrats only existed for a couple of years, the Democrats opposed civil rights and voting rights and supported segregation, like Mr. Duke did, for almost 150 years.

Ironically, efforts to suppress nationalist and the like minded while promoting multiculturalism will only fuel the movements.

Eh, I guess the Klan are technically icons of civil rights too, much like MLK, Malcolm and Rosa Parks were.

Did Duke actually go there and deny the holocaust? Or did he get arrested just for believing something but not actually verbalizing it there?

I support freedom and this sounds like Germany is hanging on to some of their fascist ways.

The Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, Bush wasn't elected to Congress until 1966. And he voted for the 1968 bill.

150 years of Democrat opposition. That the best you got?

If we are talking about important historical symbols of the civil rights era wouldn't you think so, they played a major roll. A bad one but a major one nonetheless. The Democrats created them in order to kill and intimated Republicans and Blacks.

I can see how right after WW2 and maybe even a decade or two afterwards repressing NAZI sympathizers and anti-semites.

But after all these years wouldn't it be best to refute them with the facts and do so in public?

I think many Americans didn't realize what an economy killer segregation was for the South.
