Cleaning, rust and corrosion prevention, what do you use?

This thread is why we need a technical firearms discussion. What does most of being discussed have to do with cleaning rust and corrosion prevention?

I put a plug in for barricade earlier in the thread for spraying down the shotguns and shot shells before duck hunting. Also on the alligator clips to the electric trolling motor required to get to the duck blind. That spring inside the alligator clip is going to break at precisely the wrong damn moment.
Also works well for trailer lighting that use the old school 1157 bulbs. Spray the end of the bulb and inside and out of the socket, as well as inside of the trailer plug that plugs into the truck. Those little screws that tighten down on the end of the wire will rust and you end up stripping the head out trying to remove them. It has a lot of uses not listed on the can.

 

If 1157's get corroded, end of story time to replace the entire light.

I believe the old name for Barricade is Sheath made by Birchwood Casey. I still have one of the original cans.

Just a note. I am anal about cleaning my guns and do so after each range session. After reading this thread I pulled my AR15 out of the safe just to check the lubrication. A field strip and light lubrication showed a few dirty q-tips indicating just sitting in the moisture controlled safe for a year, after my last cleaning and lube, some carbon form somewhere had loosened up waiting to be wiped off. Would it have affected the function of the gun? No, Did I need a re-lube and wipe down? Yep.

Side note, I read this interesting thread and cannot figure out how it got off topic st I clicked the "show ignored content" and it appears to be the same couple that pretend to be gun owners but still try to derail every thread with nonsense.

I do understand the totalitarian nature of socialism, and how things start off nicely, but end up with a ruling class, just like any other totalitarian state.
