A troll is someone who posts inflammatory, provocative messages with the specific intention of making the other person angry. BB isn't breaking any rules about off-topic posting that I can see. Usually people only get angry about this when it is genuinely off-topic and detracts from the conversation. If anything BB is making an extremely pertinent point that both sides of the AGW fence are guilty for this and we must acknowledge that. if anyone was foolish enough to actually do something illegal even if only through his encouragement it would get them arrested because the only people who would do so would likely be so consumed by hatred and fear as to make them reckless or just stupid, which is rather the point considering that if he is right then by the time said action would take place it would be meaningless because the world would be destroying itself in resource wars.

To the OP...This is what Socialist Liberals do best. Create a 'problem' then spread a false alarm using media propaganda, then summarily ridicule anyone skeptical of their claims, then actually ACCUSE those same skeptics of malfeasance so as to levy fines, taxes, etc. Then, when the Socialist Liberal Eco Freaks have completely eradicated their skeptics they will be free to put their boots on society's collective 'neck' while they monetarily rob decent citizens of their income and freedom.

Now in Australia an allegation is exactly that - an allegation until there is proof. Now "Media Watch" is a program ON THE ABC itself that looks at how media report stories - they investigate a lot of stories not all of which are found wanting

Precisely....I remember in 1980's (mid I think) a lobbyist for the energy companies was speaking to a group and he told us the "watermelons" (green on the outside and RED on the inside)in DC were preparing a new assault on capitalism based on something called "Global Warming". He described what this new doomsday threat was going to be and he said they would get the liberal media to repeat it over and over until people would start to believe it is fact rather than speculation and inference. Then would come a flood of industry strangling regulations and taxes to save the world. And by God that is what exactly happened.

Which just goes to show how long the disinformation campaign has been going on by the vested interests. Back in the eighties - were there any structures in place where it would pay people to cause a "scare" about global warming - but there were and still are energy companies scared !@#@!#less that someone will cut into their wonderful profits by insisting that they no long pollute to their hearts content

 

And I remember in the 1980's being taken into space by aliens and them telling me that CO2 will cause global warming and 1998 will be the hottest year of the twentieth century. And by God that is what exactly happened.

 

Unfounded, draconian environmental regulations cause companies to have to spend more for compliance. This cost is passed along to the consumers. Energy companies are happy to do that and are not 'scared' at all. In fact, many of them are already getting into 'alternative' fuels and will be charging much more for it because it is not as cost efficient as oil.

This, together with government refusal to allow more drilling and more refineries in the U.S., keep U.S. fuel tied to the whims of the oil Cartel, constricted refinery capacity and speculators.
