Whining about the electoral college is trite no matter what side or who is doing it or in what election. Funny to see folks who are intent on protecting "minorities" in many other ways, rational and irrational, turn into whiny hypocrites when they don't get everything they want. Every state has minority protection laws in place in its corporate law for example, and the 14th Amendment, despite some offshoot flawed results, is the shining centerpiece of our Constitution. But of course that's different when you are streaming salty tears after an election that didn't go your way, right?
I am no fan of Trump but I find all the liberal bitterness funny. These are the same people that said trump and his supporters would tear apart the country by not accepting the new president.
Well, technically you could move to pretty much most places in the US. They are all turned red this morning. If you want to change that, then you need to move somewhere where your vote matters.
Feel free to prove your bogus "hundreds of millions" claim. But there's no doubt that some are pleased. Russia's Putin pleased as Trump win shocks world http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/09/politics/us-election-the-world-reacts/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...brates-a-donald-trump-win---what-does-it-mea/ A masterful manipulation and victory for the old KGB agent.
Funny, isn't it? If Hillary won the electorate and lost the popular, all these anti-electoral college people would be extolling the wisdom of the electoral college process.
No, I want the American people to choose the president. It seems like Donald supporters have a problem with that. No surprise. - - - Updated - - - I'm on the record of opposing the electoral system well before this election, so I guess it's not that funny. But need look no further than Donald's on statements and his followers her to know what their reaction would have been had it been Donald who won the popular vote and Clinton the electoral.
So not even 200 million people in the world's 7 billion people are happy about this? You need proof? No need. Trump won, you lost. That's all that matters. Keep these whiny conspiracy theories coming. I hope I see at least 4 years of them - - - Updated - - - No doubt about it.
150,000 votes, which is far fewer than the number of illegals, dead people and alzheimer nursing home patients that voted for Hilldog. We are a collection of states. The states elect the president. I'd rather that we had one state one vote, but you'd really have had your ass kicked last night
You just do not get it. If I was to follow Democrat Party Hivemind tactics, I would just say that you support lynch mobs (white-lashing CNN house Negros) because the mob always represents the majority of the vote. I remember when so many of us, from all sides, said at DP, you were a “consummate gentleman.” Respecting you does not mean we have to agree with your obvious racist lynch mob mentality. {dark humor} Let us just hope that Trump is better than you think. He has to produce JOBS; I doubt it was white-lash that got the Rust Belt.
Easily changeable. "I guess the electoral college is good for something, after all. It kept Donald Trump out of the White House". It's called hedging. I've pointed to this being done many times.
we need to keep this system, but, it does mean that Trump did not win by a landslide, it just shows how divided this country is
Yep, fraud always helps the Democrats. With all of their fraud voting of illegal aliens, ex-cons, multiple voters, they would have lost the popular vote. That's why they oppose voter ID.
Another Donald supporter who is against American people choosing their president. Funny how conservatives claim they are all about trusting the American people to make choices, until it doesn't favor their politics.
There is a reason the electoral college was installed, not let the population centers dictate to the rural citizens. It's worked for over 200 years and I might add we are a REPUBLIC, not a democracy.
Democrats will try to make the best of it, republicans would not support Obama from day one, it's time for the two parties to work together....
So when Donald won the presidency because he won a majority of the votes in Florida, how is that not "mob rule" under your logic. Let's hope. I just hope he does a better job than the last Republican president you all put in office. But since Donald's policies are virtually identical (except he wants to start a trade war), I have my doubts.
The left rejects the very ideas that the American republic was founded upon, why would anyone expect them to support the system of Governance that "old white slaveowners" put into place?
Not going to happen. You think the Republicans were obstructionists (even though Obama ultimately got almost everything he wanted passed)? Get ready to see the true hypocrisy of the Democratic party. I'll hold out hope that you'll be there to condemn your party for participating in it.
The people of each state picked their state's choice. We are a union of states. I know you hate that.
