You are not wrong, but it is lazy to dump on Trump and miss the rest if the story.

As soon as he stops lying about the 2020 election and tells the truth. As long as he pushes his bullshit and as long as there is a significant number of people who buy his bullshit then we will continue to have a problem.

    What "phony" talking points?

Was Trump involved in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election? Yes or No.

It's a simple question with only one correct answer so it should not be that difficult.

The answer is obviously yes, but was there anything illegal about it?

Another question with either a yes or no answer. The answer is also obvious but many people will deny it.

His call to the Georgia State officials is clearly a violation of GA 21-2-604 which is given in my signature.

The problem with that charge is whether Trump solicited for outright fraud. Good luck proving that in court. You guys never consider intent.

I give the actual statute in my signature. No corrupt intent needed for the solicitation charge. He simply has to ask for someone else (in this case the GA Secretary of State) to engage in conduct constituting felony election fraud. He did. Case closed.

I guess you prefer kangaroo courts like most Democrat politicians. I guess that explains your support for them. You're still ignoring the word "intent".

I don't ignore the word "intent"

In Trump's phone call it is clear that his intent is to have the GA Secretary of State change the certified vote totals

Trump: And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.

There is something wrong in saying “you’ve recalculated”. At this point the vote totals have been certified. Changing them at this point constitutes election fraud.

That's all you've got? You couldn't even buy a cup of cheap coffee with that. Trump laid out all the reasons why he questioned the results. No where did he claim he knew he was wrong and yet . . . . That would go towards intent to commit a crime or to solicit a crime be committed.

I can tell you are not a lawyer. Trump doesn’t have to know he was wrong. He simply has to request someone else commit election fraud.

You can't ask someone to commit a crime if you don't know it's a crime. It could very well be a crime, but you need to prove intent to commit voter fraud.

Yes it will. Don Jr will probably run for senator in New York when the next election cycle comes when Gillibrand will run for reelection in 2024 in the GOP primary. I think he still maintains his residence in New York, last I heard.

I am not sure if Biden will run again. Right now, it is 50/50. Definitely, the voting public does not want Biden or Trump in 2024. The question then becomes who will the Dems nominate? Harris? Newsome? Buttitege? Young? I don't think any of them can take on DeSantis if DeSantis is the GOP nominee. Harris can't take on Trump, but Newsome might be able to if he has the right message and is consistent.

And this is different from any other politician out there? Let's see, Boebert, MTG, and others will say that if you are a democrat, then you hate this country (belittling) or that you are a communist/socialist (belittling), or you are not a true patriot (belittling), or they are the enemies of the Constitution (belittling). The point is that everybody does this and it can be blamed on one and not the other. Nor am I arguing that it should be done, but it has been a part of US politics for over three decades now, with more and more politicians getting into this fray of belittling so they can show their electorate "they are fighting for them" mentality.

And he asked someone to do a crime. “Ignorance of the law is no defense”

Where did he ask someone to commit a crime? I provided the transcript of the call and you didn't point it out.

So Trump's intent when he called Brad Raffensperger wasn't for Brad to somehow conjure up 11,780 votes out of the hundreds of thousand votes that Trump said were his but went to Biden,11,780 votes so that he could declare victory?

If it wasn't Brad then who the hell was suppose to find these votes, Trump?
Votes that Brad said do not exist?

    Trump:

"So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state."

He asked the GA Secretary of State to change the certified vote total.
