True, just as pre-existing native intelligence, motivation, or even malfeasance can give some students an advantage over others. Point is, "wealth redistribution" doesn't bother to sort that out. It punishes the more prosperous among us and rewards the less prosperous. It doesn't factor in who did or did not "earn" their result. I think in that regard, the analogy is completely valid.

The problem with this is it doesn't stay in the church. If it did there wouldn't be a problem to begin with. Instead we have to deal with crap like 'under god' being added to the pledge of allegiance and attempts to push intelligent design into the class room.
