Ahem, I was responding to your original post where you brought up Russian collision but since coronavirus panic is the topic at hand I'm not going to get drawn into going down that rabbit hole.

Today's the first day of Spring Break for the school district. They just made an announcement that Spring Break is extended through April 3rd (three weeks total). They're going to see if they can set up tele-schooling between now and then.

Not to mention the fact that the pool of tenants able to pay rent is going to be considerably reduced so the waiting period where your property remains empty is likely to be longer than your worst fears.
Far better to have a tenant owe you rent and pay it back later than kick them out and be owed nothing.

And, it is also likely that accidents, drug overdoses, random acts of violence, and unexpected diseases will claim the lives of young people who "won't be alive 5 years from now".

Great attitude. Let's do nothing. Cool.:flagus:

As of this morning it's the only thing she has making money. :)

Not suggesting we do nothing merely that qursntining those most at risk makes more sense than trying to quaratining the entire country at least until deaths start occurring in much younger other wise healthy individuals.

I was wondering that. Self isolation and working from home could be a great thing for the consumption of alcohol.

Actually you brought up Russian collusion, I merely responded to it then you whined about my responding to it. Fine with me to drop the subject.

Key word, "many" not all. To be fair, I don't consider someone in good health age
65 to be elderly. Poor health could very well put them in the elderly class.

The closest known case to my smallish Democrat majority city, is 200 miles away, and yet the grocery store shelves are about bare, not many people at restaurants. Schools are closing, and governor says limit gatherings to under 50 people.

So you are saying conservatives are pretty damn smart after all. If things really went to hell a lot of liberals will wish they had ammo.

To the original OP point, I live in a very conservative area and we still had items on our shelves, until the people from Denver and suburbs (libs) drove down here in numbers to clean out the shelves. So perhaps the OP has a point. I have seen this for decades, between the two, liberals are quick to panic and for the most part conservatives remain calm and deal with the problem.

Here is a question: You have no choice but to go down a dark and dangerous alley at night. I offer you 8, 30 year old democrats to escort you or 3, 45 year old conservatives. Which would you choose to keep you safe? Don't answer libs, we all know the correct answer anyway.

I think the problem was the suggestion that renters be given a mandated free holiday on paying rent(and I assume mortgage payments). As Joeseph Walker explained he relies on that rent money to pay his bills. As quantumnerd said, it becomes a big cycle as that money moves or doesn't move through the economy. When it stops moving for whatever reason, we have a major recession/depression.

The state and local governments that are shutting down business activity are being economically irresponsible in the face of no discernible benefit to the community.

The banks got taken. That didn't make loans they bought them as they had for years. The banks did not knowingly do any thing wrong

Newsflash, If you have tenants that can't pay their rent YOU lose out. We need to all share the pain or we all lose

We are. We're even going to do deliveries but it won't be near enough to make up for lost revenue and we depend on revenue to pay the bills. This is going to be bad if it doesn't get better quick

Plus, you really shouldn't want a loan, that's just another bill to pay. What you need is business traffic and sales.

San Antonio - people are shopping like the end is near. Schools and churches are temporarily shutting their doors. Major social events are being postponed.

You mean because it is overshadowed by the political Left's concerted efforts to panic the nation while wrecking the stock market through the nature of their media outlets' coverage of --essentially -- 'We are ALL GONNA DIE!?'
