Give unprecedented problems the Republicans have had recently, have you decided not to vote for you Congressional district’s Republican candidate in 2024?

Depends who the Republican is and who the democrat is. As a swing voter I vote candidates, not party. Like around 45% of the electorate who identify themselves as independents or swing voters, both major parties disgust me as they only govern for their base, not all of America.

Until MAGA and Trump are both dead and buried as representative of Republicanism, I cannot and will not vote for any Republican for any office whatsoever. I don't care how competent they are, or what their views are. The GOP is way too full of cowards and sycophants at every level to risk putting another one in any office. Its turned into a risk, no candidate no matter how admirable is worth taking. The party needs to die, and its voters need to learn some lessons on the subject of consequences for their role in abandoning all moral authority, and democracy to get a tax cut for the wealthy and the overturning of Roe.

I as an independent voter have voted R more then D in state elections for a long time.

Since 2018, I could not vote and have not since 2016 and the MAGA crowd took over the R party.
I will not vote for another R until MAGA is ridden from the party.

I think that the current mess over the Speakership is killing the Republican Party. It's too bad because we badly need to the competition and the checks and balances.

I too wish that the crazy Trump faction would go away. They are too bull headed to realize that they are riding a dead horse.

Maybe one of these lawsuits will end the Trump candidacy. I don't like the method of eliminating political candidates because the people, not the counts, should decide who gets elected. Still, I would not be sorry to see Trump headed off into the historical sunset.

Trump is only the physical manifestation, the lump you find after your shower. The cancer has metastasized. Its traveled to every major organ and and throughout the lymphatic system. Its not Trumpism that is the dead horse. It turns out that Republicanism was trojan horse from which fascism was unleased.

I didn't think you'd like it. Trump is not the real problem anymore. The entire party is sick to the core.

Well, I you want to live under socialism, you can advocate that, but I shall oppose you.

You party as got a lot of problems starting with Biden and his qualifications to serve as president. Add the that, the far left which supports Hamas and the Squad and you are living in a very fragile glass house when you condemn the entire Republican Party.

Criminals should not be allowed to serve. Especially felons. As Cheseboro is now.

Voters have been deciding since 2018 that MAGA is bad for America.
It's just the R party can't read the writing on the wall.

    So very true.
trump picked the R party for a reason. It's the only party he could wield his terror on America.
He played the cult like a fiddle.
They think he cared about them and their version of America. Never realizing trump only ever cares about ONE thing. trump himself.

    A bunch of cowards.
Some took the high road and left.
Some took the high road and got primaried.

But thankfully, it never got to be the majority of the R party. Damn close, but not all.
My State R's in some fashion rejected trumpism, but they still chicken sheeted out in dealing with his BS.

I disagree. I would love to have a candidate on the ballot who refused to pay taxes in protest, or refused to comply with our stupid gun laws.

We can count you out as a supporter of any Law and Order ticket. That's not really your bag.

I can support law and order while opposing laws that don't benefit society.

Its best to not look at party affiliations, but rather look at the candidate. I can vote for Republicans, just not the likes of Gatz, MTG, Boebert etc the new face of the GOP

as long as the Democrats are the party of gun banning and tax hiking I won't vote for a democrat at a national level office. I am sick of Trump and hope the GOP challenger to the current democrat incumbent in 2024 is not a Trump fluffer

Congress is all about consensus. Consensus is necessary to get anything done. This of course fulfills a vital function in democracy but it also has the disadvantage of allowing parties to play a game of "chicken", threatening disaster if they do not get what they want.

Obviously compromise is necessary, but how do all the players come together in a big enough mass to reach a consensus and decide precisely how much compromise each side is going to have to make?

He bores me big time. I don't know who I support at this point. Not Trump, not the guy from my home town. Haley seems to have had the best debates. Tim Scott would cause some real problems for senile Joe. DeSantis has a good resume but he has the Ted Cruz factor.
