In all seriousness it's really sad what's been done in the south and not just to the black population but to the white population as well. They've been indoctrinated for generations to believe this stuff. If you think about it they are victims as well. Not to nearly the same extent as blacks obviously but look how their hearts have been poisoned to what are obvious facts to you and I. I tease them because in a way they also want to believe this noble Confederate/black criminal lie, but they've also been predisposed to believing it through generations of rebranding and propaganda.

During a town hall event on Wednesday night

Should be easy enough to verify. Especially since it's on video.

I agree 100%. I will not consume an NFL/Nike product since they have taken ownership of Mr. Pig Socks's message. I still support his right to burn the flag if he wants.

More than you or I know, or none.

Yes, I took that oath too. And it is shameful that all these years later the truth turns out to be that the domestic enemies of the USC are far more powerful and numerous than any foreign enemy, not counting certain dual citizens. It was our elected persons in congress and the executive who brought us the Patriot Act, a blatant attack on the 4th Amendment. Those same enemies have effectively nullified Habeas Corpus.

Patriotism means supporting your country all of the time, and its government only when it deserves it.

In most religious traditions, kneeling is a sign of the highest respect. In Britain when individuals are knighted, they kneel for the ceremony.

The flag is a piece of cloth, and the anthem is a song. The principles stated in the founding document define the country, and the government is bound (supposedly) by the restrictions in that document. The best statement of those are in the Preamble and also the Declaration of Independence. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Would you like to include a prohibition of dissent too?

There is a north, south and central America, FYI.

I stand to honor the promise the flag represents.
You kneel because that promise has been broken.

I stand to affirm my belief that all are created equal, and to fight alongside you for that promise.
You kneel because too few stand with you.

I stand because we can be better.
You kneel to remind us to be better.

I stand to honor all that have fought and died so that we may be free.
You kneel because not all of us are.

    I stand because I can.
You kneel for those who can't.

I stand to defend your right to kneel.
You kneel to defend my right to stand.

I stand because I love this country.
You kneel because you love it too.

Geographically there is only North and South America. From a national standpoint only people who are citizens of the United States are Americans. Everyone else is something else (Canadians, Mexicans, Brazilians, Venezuelans, Panamanians, Cubans, etc.)

yes, but lowering it doesn't disrespect America.... nor does kneeling

though some may not of liked it being lowered for McCain, doesn't mean people that wanted it lowered did not love America

It does when the guy who started it say its a deliberate insult to my country

Colin Kaepernick explains why he sat during national anthem

I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game

The flag means something more than just a pretty piece of cloth

Or at least it means something to many American citizens

It is far more than that to many U.S. citizens.

"The stripes represent the original 13 Colonies and the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well; red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice."

This means much more than me, more than anyone posting here, and much more than our elected officials.

Not showing respect based on a lie

The black players are ignorant as well as unpatriotic

Thats their attitude and here’s mine

Take a knee, break a knee

Then everyone will have something to cheer about
