I can't understand all the shock and hand wringing regarding the Trump fueled insurrection on Capitol Hill yesterday. I mean, the handwriting has been on the wall since this Orange faced POS took office in 2016.

Remember Trump bristling that people pointed out he didn't win the popular vote. He stated, "I didn't run for the popular vote...I ran for the electoral vote". Then he proceded to have his "people" investigate possible fraud in the election process. Of course, "his people" turned up NOTHING.

Time passes; nearly a year before the election, Trump states for the record that if he loses a bid for a second term it's because the election will be "rigged" (paraphrasing here).

Then we have yesterday's disgrace.... a bunch of willfully ignorant folk coupled with alt-right bigots and confederate flag waving racists show up at Trump's rally, where their fearless leader says, "let's march down to the Capitol and stop that vote/debate/certification of Biden...I'll march with you"

Of course, Trump goes home and the idiots procede to disgrace America in front of the world.

Meanwhile, all the Republican senators and congressmen who lock step backed/supported/excused of a Trump's shennanigans these past four years act as if butter wouldn't melt in their mouths as they condemned the rioters and waggled a finger at Trump.

And still, you had a slew of die hards vote to try and disenfranchise hundreds of thousand of votes in states they already contested in court and LOST. What I find interested is that NONE of those yahoos made one peep about the following https://www.justplainpolitics.com/sh...12#post4148312. Selective much? Bias much?

But hey, all those nice folk who rioted are now milling about in DC, checking out of their hotels and waiting board planes, buses or drive home and such. I guess they think no law enforcement will bother them further.

    Idiots.

As for all those politicians still BS'ing the Trump mantra....2022 is coming for ya, baby!

As for Trump.....YOU'RE FIRED! GET THAT SONOFABITCH OFF THE FIELD! I doubt they'll remove him a'la' 25th amendment shour of him start running around in his underwear and such, but he'll be talking the SOS right up to and after January the 20th.

Then NYC lawyers will be on him like white on rice for alleged financial crimes NOT related to his role as President.

No executive privilege....it's coming for ya, Donnie! Better prep the kids and Melania.

There was no sedition or any attempt at it. The violence isn’t surprising after years of dem leaders supporting it from thier side.

nothing will happen, Trump will leave office when it’s time and live happily ever after.

    • Insulting or personally attacking other posters (Rule 2)
    <Mod Edit>

I defy you to produce one quote or sound bite or video from one Democratic senator or congressman who in no uncertain terms incited anyone to use violence to reverse or stop the democratic process. <Rule 2>

    And for your education:

    sedition
    [səˈdiSH(ə)n]
    NOUN
    1. conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.

The big quote that you think amounts to "sedition" is:

There's not a court in this country where urging a crowd to "walk down there" and "cheer" is going to meet the evidentiary bar for "sedition".
    <Rule 2/3>

The deleted tweet below proves that Trump approves of his seditious army he calls "Patriots" actions yesterday.

Trump is old news so I am curious why the lefties won't discuss Biden AT ALL.

Is he really that horrible that you have to keep repeating Trump hate constantly.

Everyone on the left that Biden was being held up because of the transition so what is he doing now that he haves it?

This was such a monumentally big issue for the left that it's strange they don't discuss what Biden has been doing with all his new access.

That doesn't prove what you think it does. He told protesters to "Go home with love & in peace." That's the opposite of what you claim. It was idiotic of Twitter to delete that post.

Biden and his circles don’t quite draw the attention that the Trump circus does. Trump will likely draw the lime light until he’s out of office. I honestly look forward to not having to hear about what the president is doing every day. It’s exhausting.

You know you don't "have to" do that right now, right? It's a personal choice you're making.

It proves exactly what I said it does. His tweet is the equivalency of someone telling a Woman the reason why she was raped is because of her choice of scantily clad clothing.

Which part of Trump's tweet is calling for sedition... is it "Go home in love & peace" or "Remember this day forever"? :buggered:

Yeah, it is. Turn off the TV, shut down the computer, go outside and throw a frisbee with your kid / wife / girlfriend / dog / whatever. Nobody is forcing you to "hear about what the president is doing every day".

I appreciate your concern, and I do make time for myself. But I also like to keep up with the news, and I suspect a Biden presidency won’t manage to bumble its way into my feed every day the same way the Trump admin has.

I think it's more that Biden doesn't have any plans, he never thought further ahead then beating Trump.

Umm, no...After a rambling, lie ridden screed alledging rampant corruption and disdain for his followers, it's actually this: " ... Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong."
In conjunction with this immediately after the insurrection:
"... These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. "

Anything said AFTER the protest can't possibly be incitement. No one has invented time-travel, so there's no way a post made after the event can be incitement of the event, so I'll just ignore the second quote, because it's not remotely relevant (and even if he'd said exactly that to the rally prior to the event, it still wouldn't rise to the level of legal incitement).

As to the first one, what do you understand about our First Amendment jurisprudence? Have you ever read Brandenburg v. Ohio? Courts are familiar enough with that precedent, that I'm quite confident the sentences you quoted (" ... Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong.") would not meet the legal definition for incitement in any one of them. It isn't anywhere remotely close to an explicit call for immediate violence.

My recommendation to Prosecutors would be to charge him (Federal Charge of Inciting a Riot).anyway.

    • Incitement to riot is when a person encourages others to commit a breach of the peace without necessarily acting themselves. This may involve statements, signs, or conduct intended to lead others to riot.
The federal crime of rioting is punishable by fines, imprisonment for up to five years, or both.

Charge him, If he skates, he skates.

13 people were arrested.....and somehow you equate them with the more than a million who were peaceful?
