Dunno. But he's been getting a lot of free publicity for a long time from all the witchhunting he's the target of. I dunno if he needs it, but he kinda seems to enjoy it.

This is publicity that greatly reduces his chances of ever being re-elected.

The only bad publicity is no publicity.

It doesn't work that way for Federal Immigration Laws, either, and yet...

    And yet what?

The Constitution states explicitly that states will extradite, and the clear intent is to prevent what DeSantis is doing.

I am not sure how that relates to a city government not enforcing federal immigration law.

So the actions of a few dozen people are indicative of the feelings of hundreds of millions of others? That is a statistically invalid conclusion.

On a side note, when Trump evades extradition to NY, is NY state gonna steal the Trump Towers, for example, or any other possession of Trump in NY?

There's not. To the best of my extreme knowledge, no candidate in the US has ever gotten hundreds of millions of votes in a single election.

At Trump's last rally in Waco, the national anthem was sung by Capitol MAGA rioters who recorded the song in prison.

    People cheered wildly.

    That's the GOP today.

It must make you proud. No ?

I'm a registered Libertarian. Sadly, they are a joke of a party who has no juice, no leadership worth a crap, and no influence at all. I think a lot of people, on both sides, agree with the fundamental libertarian philosophy of "Leave me alone to live my life as I want to in peace, unless and until I hurt someone who didn't have it coming." If only that was how our government governed. Our Constitution actually shows strong Libertarian ideas, but things went to $hit in the last 110 years or so.

The people who indicted Trump were your fellow citizens-the ones you show contempt for. Your attempting to suggest the legal enforcement officers and judiciary system that indicted Trump is political is a crock of ****. You would be the first to demand enforcement of laws if the accused was a Democrat. This is not about the rule of law for you, its about hero worshipping Trump and believing he can break any law he wants because laws to not apply to him. You worship him no different than Germans did Hitler or Italians Mussolini-you have turned a man into a state and make no distinction.

You create a tyrant with omnipotent powers precisely the kind of tyrant your country in 1776 rebelled to reject.

Run along and ask your rhetorical questions to someone else. If DeSantis breaks a law the fact he is a Governor does not mean he is above the law. His being DeSantis is not the issue, his choosing to break a law might be. So far DeSantis has broken no laws.

So much for the rule of law.

But Ron DeSantis is not doing this because he likes Trump. He wants Trump to beg for him and endorse him. That is DeSantis's true motive. However, there is no cooperation for extradition among the states. The GOP are showing their true colors that they do not want the rule of law, just an authoritarian form of government with different rules for different folks.

Ah. So you're the one, eh? You love it when government is up your ass and monitoring your every move, taking your money at every opportunity (and some non-opportunities, just for fun), searching your house and car just because, shutting down you Internet because some muckity muck high up on some chain of command list doesn't like what you're saying, that's all you?

    That explains a few things.

The typical standard reads something like 'lethal force is authorized if a reasonable person would believe that the bad guy posed a direct and imminent threat of death or grave bodily injury', either to a victim, potential victim, or perhaps the last person they'll ever see. I agree with that assessment and definition.

    You don't?

Not at all. I just prefer to seek my freedom through a bit bot effective means than what you described as "no juice, no leadership worth a crap, and no influence at all"
It explains nothing that you imagined.

    Of course I do.
