That was not the problem. Most teachers already had sufficient computer skills, and nearly all others were able to learn how to work with the platforms used. The problem (which was NOT simple) is that the format of remote learning is not appropriate for k-12 students. In fact, it turned out to be quite harmful for a great many students in a great many ways.

By the same token, how dumb do you have to be to think that Geriatric Joe, Kamala-la-la-ding-dong, or any of the 'woke' Democrat cabal care at all about mainstream, middle-class American citizens...? :confusion:

Biden has a proven lifetime of service. Trump has a proven lifetime of ruining contractors and stealing from suckers.

Biden and his money-grubbing family enterprise(s) have a 'proven lifetime of service' to THEMSELVES... and made a hell of a lot of money while doing it. Not bad for a ward-heeling Democrat politician who never had a permanent job doing anything but working for the government....

Trump? He enjoyed the advantage of being given ~$120 million bucks by his daddy. And, instead of living the life of a pampered, spoiled wastrel, he took that $120 million and made it into a business empire that is worth $3 billion today. I'm sure I have convinced you of nothing, but I'll leave you with this thought from a business legend, Dr. Chester Karrass: "In Business As in Life, You Don't Get What You Deserve, You Get What You Negotiate!" :nana:

The special magistrate is a lawyer. You never gave teachers a chance.

My quite serious suggestion is to give parents through parent organizations a veto over the people hearing parent complaints.

I trust parents to do the right thing. Why? For example ... I spent my teaching career helping parents put the screws on school officials hiding funds for resources needed to get students the help they need to overcome learning problems. Not once in three decades did I get blowback from admin because—and this is only a guess—I don't think any parent tattled on me.
If school district and state officials get to select teachers on the make for admin jobs, I see problems here, too.

What do you mean "You never gave teachers a chance"?!? The very FIRST chance is for the teachers. If they keep the parents happy, no lawyers ever get involved. It's only when they do something that irritates / infuriates a parent to the point that they complain that this whole plan gets set in motion. And even then, what happens next? The principal has seven days to resolve the parent's concern. I expect that the vast majority of principles, somewhere in those seven days, are going to consult with the teacher, thus giving the teacher a SECOND chance to fix their mistake. Then the ball gets passed to the school district, who have up to 30 days to resolve the parent's concern or issue a statement explaining their reasoning for not resolving it. I again expect that most school districts will, somewhere in those 30 days, meet / interview / discuss / counsel with the teacher about the issue, and so the teacher gets even more input into the situation. If, after that, the parent is still dissatisfied (and only then) do lawyers start getting involved.

Could you elaborate on this? Are you saying you want the PTA to be able to veto the commission of education's choice for special magistrate? Or that they should be able to veto which judge the case is assigned to?

Great, so does the Florida legislature. This whole process is in the parents' hands, from initiation to every bit of escalation along the way. Satisfy the parents, and the process ends. Don't satisfy them, and it escalates.

Now pull up how much each country spends on education per student k-12. I dare say we would be near the top with mediocre results.

You can't be this dumb. Poor people, especially blacks, end up passing homes along to family members without establishing clear title. It makes little difference until people want to finance, say, an addition and want government help.
