If the Palestinians are driven from Gaza, and Israel builds settlements there, that is ethnic cleansing.

The Nakba was also ethnic cleansing. The same strategy is being used here. Use a war to move the civilians, then refuse to let them back to their homes as Israeli settlers build there. That is what ethnic cleansing is.

I suppose you think that bombing civilian homes is what ended the war. No. Bombing industrial sites did that. What industry is being bombed in Gaza? No ball bearing factories there I am afraid...
Bombing civilians is probably what made Germany fight so damn hard, and likely cost more allied lives than what would have otherwise been lost.

There are no sides here. There is the factual record of history which you ignore. And there is the factual reality that Gazan civilians will be much better off with Hamas gone and Israel again providing security in the Gaza Strip.

 

There was a functioning economy before Israel left the Gaza Strip in 2005. After Hamas no economy.

 

6 years of war will do that when there are millions of soldiers involved in the fighting. It was a world war. The targeting methods were extremely more primitive than what is available today. Even with dumb bombs today, CCIP/CCRP methods of delivery are still far more accurate than what a B-17 employed.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were not at all necessary in my opinion, and was more about demonstrating our new capability to Russia than defeating Japan, who would have surrendered eventually or at least be made impotent through naval blockades. No, invading mainland Japan was never necessary.
