I will give you lots of points for honesty.

It's easy to say that Xi is a great guy when you are getting rich from his regime. That’s not much different from the Republicans who support illegal immigration because they get cheap labor from it.

 

I love These United States above all else, because I know the future of even my family, their freedom and prosperity, depend on "Government BY The People".

So when an opportunist like Shapiro makes so many unfounded and undocumented accusations about more than half of his fellow American's I am obligated to call BULLSHIT on his totally biased and un-supported diatribe published in one of the most biased and progressive hating publications there is. Shapiro makes many accusations but offers 0 documentation other than his opinion to back them up. He has NO proof that "Liberals" are less proud of America than Conservatives, I know of NO ONE that's left leaning that believes the Declaration of Independence is a lie, or that OUR beloved Constitution is anything but a WORLD changing document that IS anything but a "REVOLUTIONARY" blueprint for GOVERNMENT BY THE PEOPLE.

You only have to monitor this forum to know that it isn't Liberal's but Conservatives that are incessantly "tearing down" OUR "fundamental institutions". It isn't Liberal's but Conservatives who believe their goal of an Ultra-Evangelical WHITEWASHED utopian America is more than justified by whatever mean's necessary. Even to the point of supporting a violent attack on the seat of OUR Nation's power, the most beautiful public building in the world, OUR Capitol and supporting, without reservation, the only president in our history to refuse to gracefully transfer power to his successor. It was those "types" it was that "ilk" that wanted to overthrow the very CONSTITUTION Shapiro is talking about so that the looser of OUR 2020 election could remain in power ... no matter the cost.

Yes PATRIOTS celebrate the founding of OUR Nation, by quietly going about their business and not denigrating everything that's been built up in the last 247 years so that the most self serving lying conman
ever born can become dictator of OUR Republic. Conservative thought has it's place in our political discourse, but tRaitor tRump's "thinking" is not Conservative OR Liberal, his thinking is of himself, only himself, always himself; without exception. It's those "types and ilk" that support him that are destroying These United States.

The difference between Progressives and Conservatives is not that great. But, the difference between Patriotic Progressives and hate filled tRaitor tRump supporters couldn't be greater.

Why is it that the MAGA crowd resorts to incessant attacks on their countrymen instead of trying to find a way to really bring about American Greatness.

 

Y’all don’t like our people — most of which are not Republicans, y’all don’t love our institutions, y’all don’t like our government, y’all don’t like our corporations, you don’t like the president, y’all don’t like our educators, you specifically have called for splitting up states. Any y’all love the phrase if you don’t like it leave (supremely ironic), y’all hated the USSC until seats were stolen and then did exactly what y’all said you hated about it. What exactly do you love outside of a piece of fabric and some romanticized version of the past.

Your entire political movement is currently Make America Great Again which means you don’t think America is great currently.

Also, how do you put America first? Is it by pushing for programs that help all Americans such as reducing childhood hunger and homelessness? Or reducing the healthcare burden? Is it through strong environmental laws to protect our nations air, ground and water? Is it endorsing strong educational attainment so we can advance our nation over the coming generations? Surely you do not support candidates that deploy culture war rhetoric or repeat things like the only good democrat is a dead one?

Right?

 

Read or know history? Are you kidding? I lived through those years - all of them. Racism was terrible. They began to fix it during the following decade. We made some serious strides that we are throwing away currently.

 

People can love this country and yet still criticize it. You seem to think love of country and criticizing the country are mutually exclusive, especially "for liberals."

For most people, July 4th is a day for BBQ, family, Baseball, watching the hot dog eating contest, and so forth. And all of that is about as American as apple pie.

 

There is far more to being equal then being created equal. There is also equal treatment under the law.

For the first almost 200 years of our county's history that was NOT the case. Not by a long shot. Blacks were held as property. Women were denied the right to vote or own land. Hell, it wasn't until the 1970s that a married woman could hold a credit card in her own name.

Since the civil rights movement of the 1960s there have been vast improvements...but we still are not at the point of complete and equal treatment under the law. It wasn't until 8 years ago that same sex couples got equal treatment under the law to marry.

No one expects equality of results on an individual basis. People have different abilities, different goals in life and different desires.

But STATISTICALLY we can expect equality of results. But we live in a society where rates of poverty for blacks are double that of whites. Until we can figure out why and fix that issue then we are not living in a society of equality. And this is not the only disparity we can find.

The right would have you believe that there is something about being black that causes this disparity. That "black culture" is inherently lazy or prone to criminal acts. I guess they think it is genetic or something. They refuse to acknowledge that 200 years of government sponsored (or at least government assisted) oppression could have anything to do with it. Or that a mere 50 years of government attempts to solve the problem has fixed it. (Remember, this is the same government that they say can't fix squat)

But taking a hard look at these issues forces people to confront things about this history of this country that makes them feel the sadsies and so they just refuse. You can't fix the issue if you continue to deny that it IS an issue.

 

A simple yes or no to the title question would have sufficed. BizPac Review is as legitimate a news and opinion source as any here. Ben Shapiro is a legitimate talk show host and op-Ed writer. Calling a source or author flamebsit because you don’t like them is rather pathetic. You secular progressives no longer get any say in regard to that. It’s your opinion and nothing more. That you complain about them from a partisan point of view is only incentive to me to thread more of their fine work here.

 

And the fireworks. For most people is a good description of what happens on the day and how most people do still love our country. There is a fringe on the secular progressive far left though who think otherwise and are drawing attention to their “cause” /beliefs. It is they that the author and I take exception to, not mainstream ordinary Americans be they conservative, libertarian, moderate/centrist, or classical true liberals.

I think progressive's "love" for America is purely transactional. They seemed to love it when Obama was President, threatened to flee to Canada and other countries when Trump was President, and now Biden is President; they love America again.

 

Absolutely, an today, in 2023, that is clearly stated in the Constitution.

 

Nationalism isn't a religion. Leftists would have us believe that socialism is though.

And not one of them will mention disparaging our fundamental institutions or denigrating their authority or the authority of our Constitution and Government. Nor will they advocate attacking our Capitol because of a temper tantrum by their leader because he lost an election.

 

Liberals read only communist publications and hate books an generally have lower IQ's than average. They hate America and find anything they to vilify and deride America. They criticize anything they can about America an seek to destroy her freedoms. They believe we should all obey rather than be free. Liberals especially hate MLK's statement that we should be judged by the content of our character rather than by the color of our skin.

 

That is a perfect inversion of the truth.
