My answer is that those who have been wronged should seek restitution. That bird will absolutely fly. The court system is how we do that in the USA.

If YOU can show, specifically, how YOU have been harmed by governance that is or was not colorblind, then YOU have cause for action to seek restitution against those who are responsible. If others have been wronged in the same way, then collectively you have a class, who as a group have a much stronger case for action.

We should always resist passing ADDITIONAL race based laws like YOU seemingly propose. More colorblind governance... not less.

If you want reparations, and to change the system, that's how to do it.

That's also a good answer to the poster who wants Italy to give him "reparations" because the Roman Empire made slaves of his German ancestors! At one time or another in history, nearly everybody was somebody's else's slave. There hasn't been slavery in this country for 158 years! Can we finally move on now?

It's true. Throughout history, almost every person on this planet was born as the property of another. Until 1776, when the idea of individual sovereignty was born with the forming of this country.

I imagine that of all people who would like to "move on now", today's Germans would enjoy a break from the slander and extortion carried out by the fraudulent Holocaust Industry (1), (2)

    - "80 years on, Austria’s Jews renew demand for Holocaust reparations"
    https://www.clevelandjewishnews.com...cle_20c2a8b0-3725-5281-9c09-2c0751fae4c2.html

    - "Children of Holocaust survivors want German government to pay for psychiatric care"

No one disputes that many of Europe's Jews were persecuted, lost their homes and were sometimes incarcerated but since the Israeli Jews are, in turn, persecuting Palestine's native residents via ethnic cleansing, I see no reason for Germany to fund one ethnic cleansing with the reparations from another.

Let's see if these "reparations naysayers" have anything to say about the extortion of Germans that had nothing to do with the Holocaust.

A class action lawsuit against the US government and states by families who had their civil rights violated would be presided over by a judge or many judges for each state and when won, because there is plenty of evidence their rights were violated, there would be a cash payout after many years. That would not be the optimal outcome.
Reparations should be about repairing the damage done to the culture. We do some of that now but we don't call it reparations.

how about all of those of us who have been paying taxes and have nothing to do with these alleged torts against the ANCESTORS of those making claims? what about the millions of whites who have been victims of black crime? the entire premise of reparations is racist bullshit. and the real tortfeasors are people long dead and buried-often in Africa. I'd vote out of office-if I could-any judge that would even let such a suit survive a Rule 12b6 motion

This is about blacks in the USA. and we whites owe them absolutely nothing. even if a white guy was the descendent of Nathan Bedford Forrest or General Robert Lee or CSA President Jefferson Davis

Nope, the defendants are the US or state governments not the citizens, but that would be the wrong way to go.
So you don't agree that the African American culture was damaged and shaped by slavery, then over 100 years of systemic racism, lack of civil rights, segregation and cultural racism? You must think their social problems are inherent to their race.

why should any of us pay-you seem to assume that the "government" has its own wealth and we aren't impacted.

Civil rights violations are prosecuted every single day. I can't imagine a faster solution, given the bureaucracy. So, what do you propose that would constitute an "optimal outcome"?

Government has no wealth. Everything they give to one, they first must take by force from another. How do you reconcile this?

Anybody who disagrees should be forced into slavery. That's what I've heard. What do you think about that?

some of us reject that governments are more important than the citizens and that governments should be better armed than their masters. Don't trust a government that doesn't trust you to own firearms
