Dan, if you are a representative that stands for Constitutionally limited government, and there are a couple dozen or so in the House, then you are persona non grata with those that control the process.

Those that control the process are not the problem, they are a symptom of the problem. The problem is the American people that have allowed their government to be taken over by an oligarchical ruling class of which the political class wields unlimited power subservient to the banking/corporate class.

It doesn't matter if the Establishment candidate comes from the Democrat Party, or the Republican Party. To be sure the American people will see some minor philosophical shifts in policy; the Fed will manipulate the economy as they wish; taxes will go up and down; wars come and go... all regardless of which subdivision the Establishment puppet comes from.

No Dan, the only thing the Establishment fears is the Constitution, and an awakening of understanding amongst the citizenry. If the American people understood the game, they would put a stop to it immediately - it only makes sense that the Establishment would ensure they are protected regardless of which party wins the WH. Supporting any of their candidates, regardless of party, ensures that they remain in power, write the rules, control the process, and continue to enrich and empower themselves at the expense of our freedom and sovreignty.

At this late stage in the game, i.e. $16 trillion in debt hovering somewhere around 85-100% of GDP, $trillions more planned, and $100's of trillions in unfunded promises - continuing to support their agenda, and playing along with "the lesser of two evils" con, really doesn't make much sense.

As for Paul doing nothing... his slate hasn't had a say in political, monetary, or economic matters in over 100 years. Elect Paul and you'll see WW III on all of those fronts.

A Paul presidency would be the beginning of a viscious and painful battle - a battle that has to take place if we are ever to be a free and sovreign people again. Obviously the American people are so pathetically informed about what is being done to them, that this fight is only a blip on the radar. The Establishment controlled media does a fabulous job of controlling the narative.

The Establishment does use well-meaning people; people who by and large are opposed to most of the Establishment's goals. Don't carry water for them. Paul is an imperfect spokesman to be sure, and hopefully a more articulate defender of freedom will step forward and carry the message by storm, but until then it does no good whatsoever to support any Establishment candidate.

One other thing that Paul supporters refuse to acknowledge is Paul's national support. He has NO general support. He has very limited support among a small group that neglects to VOTE. It is ardent and vociferous support, but it amounts to the "Mouse that roars." He has no chance to be elected. He never had any chance to be elected, and he never will have any chance to be elected. I'm guessing that after Super Tuesday, Paul will drop out, just as he has dropped out in his other presidential runs.

So, besides a record that even obama could shred, Paul's support comes from a small group of LOUD, non voters. He is at 12.2% approval now. Last in a 4 man race. And he has never even cracked the top half of the Republican candidates. Even when there were 9 candidates, he was in the bottom tier. As others dropped out, Paul has remained in the bottom tier. He has garnered NO support from those who dropped out. He is not a possible presidential electee.

    THAT IS REALITY!

It is certainly a reality that you, all neocons, and most Republicans have fought for. After New Hampshire Paul was shown to be neck and neck with Obama in national polls at 44/43%. The fact that Republicans spit upon his message more than the population as a whole is more an indictment of the Republican Party and illustrates just how far to the left they have moved.

The overriding reality is this - Romney draws some support from independents, but let's face it, nobody trusts Romney; and Santorum is a Shihite Christian more closely related to Jim Jones than George Washington. I expect both of them will be defeatedly rather handily by Obama. The only chance either of them might have against Obama is if gas prices spike to $5 per gallon.

Regardless, as I have argued previously, it doesn't matter which of those 3 wins - they're all 3 still Establishment puppets. Of the 3, I think Romney might buy us the most time... shore things up a bit, and keep us afloat for 10-15 more years before the collapse.

Of course, he would lift nary a finger to restore Constitutional government, cut spending, or reduce our militarism. The Establishment script will continue to be read from just as it has for the past 100 years.

"The lesser of two evils" shell game has been going on for decades... it's much easier and rewarding to go with flow of opinion and money. You say Paul's support is about 12%?? Well, that would mean that 88% of Americans couldn't care less about their country or freedom; either they couldn't care less, or they don't know any better... in the end it doesn't matter which - whether they shot themselves in the head intentionally, or by accident the result is the same.

The only reality is that Paul does not, has not and will not have ANY general support. His support has always been a small loud group that makes more noise than it votes. No conspiracy caused this. It has been that way since Paul's first aborted run for the presidency. Held true in his second aborted run, and remains true in this his third and last aborted run.

And I'm commenting from a position of general support for his ideas, but disdain for his failure to produce results.

And our "Best and Brightest" DON"T go into politics, and that is what causes the lesser of 2 evils quandary. I don't like that either, but I'm aware that idealism has no place in politics. The system we invented seems insane to all that examine it. It just works, sometimes better sometimes worse.

Well again, for you and most, it is simply much easier to go along to get along. You'll vote for whoever the Establishment tells you to vote, same as you always have, and same as you always will.

Just don't go getting notions that you'll get a different result.

As for "idealism"?? Do you mean principle?? If principle has no place in politics, we might just as well throw off the veneer of civility, lock and load, and may the strongest survive.

I've worked in politics - if ever there was a segment of any society that needed to be forcibly chained down by principle and the rule of law, it is politicians wielding the power of government. Sadly, the vast majority of Americans have been disabused of the notion that their government needs to be constrained in any way.

Since I absolutely believe that the American people deserve to suffer for their arrogance and ignorance - I tend to view all of these machinations and the coming collapse as a spectator sport...

Hey!!! very cool!!! I just checked the debt clock, and they've updated it to 2016 - over $24 trillion in just 4 more years, lol...

The progress is so low it would not surprise anybody if it's fudged, the prices are rising faster than I can....LOL

That's the tale of the tape buddy, dont go by some little hype in numbers so small they could not impress a Hooker at a Debbie does Congress convention.....The people who do not pay attention to politics and polls are the majority of this country. Gas and food are killing them along with one of the worst housing markets I or Jimmy Carter have ever seen.

This is what the country goes by,,,WHAT THEY SEE!! He will lose any debate, he can not make things look any better than they are, and that's his problem..''It is what IT IS!!'', and he took the KEYS,,,REMEMBER?

I'll take the debate bet, and raise you two reps.......

Yes, the Right lives in a make believe world of silly cartoons and wild accusations. Reality is more boring. Global economic confidence in the USA has already returned. Most bankers, economists and analysts can read the data and we can see domestic demand improving and the US economy with it. For people like me who need to understand this stuff for our jobs, we are starting to think about the commercial effect on the global economy and our businesses of a strengthening US dollar. Europe is the current drag on the global economy.

For those who analyze the US economy who are indifferent to US politics it is clear that the problems came from the Bush regime, the solution - fiscal stimulus - was also started by the Bush regime. It was continued by Obama who did little in his Presidency other than to continue what Bush started. And it is having the effect that would be expected that US demand starts to eventually recover from a very deep recession.

It helps to see the wood and not just the trees sometimes. Politicians do impact economic development but there is usually a significant time lag between their actions and the results of their actions.

The GOP knows this too, which is why they only see their third rate candidates in this race. Obama should win. It would take a campaign of some incompetence for him to lose. The serious contenders in the GOP will keep their powder dry for 2016. Someone like Santorum - obnoxious on social policy but pretty competent - may emerge from 2012 with his position strengthened for 2016. The others (except Paul perhaps) will sink. Romney is a moderate which makes him more electable, but he's very unlikeable. If I had to choose the best person to beat Obama from the current crop of GOPs I would choose Santorum. He has the potential to strengthen. He shows signs of being someone that power would moderate rather than intoxify (this will ultimately make him a traitor to the likes of the Tea Party, but would get him two terms). I realy don't like Santorum - Huntsman would be my preference or other moderates like Giuliani. But he's competent and that says something.

Reality is what the average voter perceives it to be. If Gas and food prices are high he will not get elected, regardless of Global confidence.

I hope Obama loses mainly because of his taste in supreme court justices.
Other than that issue the country does best when whatever party has the White House does not control congress. That helps prevent the extremist on both sides from being able to further hurt our country.
The Democrats are destroying our country at 100mph; the Republicans are doing the speed limit but have the same destination.

:handshake: on the friendly bet . and wow , what a great graphic

well now , Flounder , the numbers I referred to came from Foxx News . If it'd came from NBC or CBS , I wouldn't have even bothered to mention it .

Whether one is a Dem or Gop , T or Indy , none of us have had much good news the past 3 years , it's been mainly bad news , economically speaking . So we get a little good news for a change , and a little light goes a long way when it's been dark for so long , and for so many people , but you're right in saying people will vote with their wallets . what's the old political adage "It's the Economy , Stupid " , and as you said , He did take the keys.

The reason I compare Romney to Carter is both of them ran on being DC outsiders that will reform the Fed Gov't , and MR will run into the same wall Carter did , the beauracrats don't want change , there's too much money to be made by keeping things just the way they are .

The GOP faces 2 seperate tasks with 4 different candidates , my opinion .

1 is to save the US manufacturing sector / the US Economy

2 is to fix the Fed Gov't / UHC .

at the present time , the quickest and most do-able if fix the Gov't , it'll take 10 + years to fix the economy .

Romney can't fix the gov't because he won't have any help on capital hill.

Newt can't fix the economy , but he could fix the Fed Gov't .

so , you raised me two reps . well now , we ain't gonna play poker , it's a straight bet . but I'll match the 2 reps , and on to the debates.

btw , I loved the Debbie does Congress jibe

His performance would get him no more votes this time than it did last time but I suspect the liberals are stupid enough to vote for him regardless. Anything else would require that they admit they screwed up last time and that will never happen.

Global confidence usually reflects reality (except when it gets it vastly wrong but that is not the usual case). It reflects the lowering unemployment and the higher retail sales in the USA which are lead indicators of how the economy is impacting real people. Most Americans are moderates. The GOP would have a chance if they had a moderate candidate. But Americans also go on character - not just food and gas prices - as I'm sure you'll agree, and Obama is no longer scary (just ineffectual) and Romney is very unlikeable. I think Santorum has the best chance actually, even if his extremism on some issues is a turn off. He's likeable. He's not arrogant. He has some charm (I may regret sayingvthis). If he turns the bigotry down and minces his words a bit, he could pull off a surprise. But it looks as if Obama has got this one in the bag unless he throws it away himself.

Occupy did nothing. No one knows what they stand for, not even the occupy people themselves. The reason Obama will win re-election is because, other than Ron Paul, the republican candidates are evil social conservatives. Not one of them is a likable person and they don't seem to talk about anything other than removing liberty and maybe going to war with Iran. I haven't heard anything about how they would fix the economy, nor about ending torture/wars/TSA searches and other un-American garbage. They're just another George Bush, just like Obama only worse. Why anyone would vote for either party this year is beyond me.

You fix the economy by cutting public spending and cutting taxes. Then those who earn the money go and spend it and the economy booms. It's a simple formula. Supply side economics. Laffer Curve. All that Reagan stuff which he never actually did.

The problem is that they want to cut debt too, which reduces Aggregate Demand and leads to a worse economy. The second problem is "what will they cut?". Because they all love pork and besides that most money is spent on a big army (which will need more money if there is a war with Iran). Despite the fact that socialized medicine is evil communism, they love Medicaid and Medicare (or won't dare to undermine their base by costing them money on their heart disease pills). They won't touch social security because people want it. So the whole thing will end up as all GOP adminstrations end up - with higher deficits, higher taxes and higher expenditure as all their careful plans turn to dust.

The key to prosperity is to get capitalism working better. The GOP don't like capitalists, even when they is one. they pretend they're ordinary folk. The Tea Party pretends it is not the plaything of billionnaires.

Dems are better capitalists. And Mitt Romney. But he's a goner and won't win.

With such a negative attitude like you have towards Ron Paul it's obvious you hate the Constitution and are all for the NWO that's being setup.

Congratulations, you along with all the other traitors of the Constitiution have sacked America by voting for Romeny, Gingrinch or Santorum.

The man entered Congress in 1976. Since then he has zero accomplishments in Congress. I may be negative, but I'm not wandering lost in fantasyland.

    Speeches are not accomplishment.

    Speeches are not leadership.

We have a White House that makes speeches.

Speeches are foul smelling hot air.

If voting against BS legislation and lobbyist needs is doing nothing, you might need to move to China where all of their BS policies are put into practice regardless of a vote.

Fact is, if Ron Paul didn't vote against so much BS, you and I would be living in a 3rd world country by now.

Here's a couple of his accomplishments for reference:

He has stood firmly against big government.
He has stood firmly in favor of the constitution.
He has returned any leftover funding to the US Treasury every year.
Lobbyists know they are wasting their time knocking on his door.

Name one, just ONE, piece of bad legislation that Paul STOPPED. In 30 years he NEITHER EVER got a piece of good legislation passed NOR ever stopped a bad piece of legislation from passing.

Paulobots love to spew the nonsense that Paul always "voted his conscience!" To WHAT end. His conscience changed nothing for starters, and secondly every, filthy, lying politician EVER can readily PROVE that he also, "always voted his conscience." That is a standard political BS statement made by all. Maybe in Paul's case only, it is true. But that does not change the FACT that in 30 years he accomplished nothing and stopped nothing. 30 years of ineffective hot air.

I WISH he had been successful. I support many of his ideas and issues. But why waste time on a 30 year failure?

Romney would outclass Obama during economic boom times but now socialist arguments are more relevant since many voters are not doing well financially and they might envy him instead of praise him for his arguments about being successful with money and how it benefits the nation

I don't even need to discuss the racism in your question... if you think OWS means people want more Obama, you're living in a cave. He didn't start the financial mess, but he's doing nothing to reverse it. If anyone's in someone else's pocket, it's the president.
