lol... are you asking seriously? You never heard of people who have jobs that involve offices and computers? It takes quite a few years of studying a semi-starving to get to that position though. It's all about what you're willing to do and what you're willing to achieve in life.

Looks like you've got a problem connecting historical events . I realized its complex and not easy to follow, especially for someone who've been taught differently from an early age. (Israeli or Pro-Israel schooling)

Even if it was feasible for Egypt and Jordan = to establish a Palestinian state - on what was left of the former mandated Palestine - - on West bank + Gaza - the Palestinians -( without an army ) wouldnt have been able to defend their borders against Zionist Jewish terrorists gangs +LEHI/Irgun/Haganah - forming the new Israeli Military.

btw - I listened to Uri Avnery on BBC news this morning - mainly abt Gilad Shalit, he went on to say that the Israeli Govt. has from day one been opposed to + and done everything possible to obstruct the creation of a viable independent Palestinian State.

To your first point:

a) why would it not be feasible for the Palestinian state to be created under Egyptian/Jordanian rule? Any less feasible than for Israel to be created under the British? Either Egypt and Jordan didn't let them (raising the question, why?) or there wasn't much interest in the idea (again raising the question why). In MY honest opinion, Palestinians have been puppets in the greater Arab war against Israel since day 1 and to this day. The Arab league wasn't happy with Abbas' independence request in UN, btw. Wonder why? I do.

As far as defending their borders go, this is based on the speculation that Israel would try to attack it. And EVEN IF so, hell, Israel defended its borders. If Arabs were concerned with the Palestinians, I'm sure they could help.

b) Uri Avnery is a wise man. I agree with him on some points, disagree on others. I frankly don't see how his opinion is better or worse than opinions of hundreds of other writers/journalists.

For fek's sake , how many more times do you have to be told - the Zionist wanted the WHOLE OF the Palestinian Mandate . Without its own army , there was no way they could have defended themselve against Zionist Jewish terrorists gangs.

Uri's opinions are based on close -direct - high level - experience, as a soldier and former MK.
But Uri is NOT the only Israeli prepared to reveal facts which Israel's Zionist regime would do all in their power to conceal or destroy by fair or fowl means.
