Donald Trump goes off on USWNT after shocking FIFA World Cup loss to Sweden

Most people who stopped supporting them didn't do it because they lost or played badly.

 

So they stopped supporting the team because they had a different political opinion from yours. That is so vain it is not even funny.

but again, it is not the reason why they lost either. Another poster explained that eloquently I might add.

For me personally, soccer, or football as it is called in most of the world, is not a sport I particularly watch. I will keep up with the major events such as FIFA because I have many international friends who talk about this all the time. So I want to be informed, and that is why I have the ESPN App on my computer to give me all the details. And that is how I got my prediction that the Women's team, even though they were #1 in the world, would not make it past the quarterfinals. I tend to watch American football, Tennis, and Basketball. I have my favorite teams and I do support them even when one or more of the players makes political remarks different from my own. It is their right to do so, and I don't let it bother me.

 

I only watched soccer because it was an American team in an international competition so I watched and pulled for them. They seem to imply we suck so I no longer care to watch. You do as you please.

 

And when the Cowboys suck, I still watched them.
