    Because the grand jury proceedings are strictly from the view point of the prosecution with no rebuttal of their witness or the their testimony about other persons of a chance for people to defend themselves against testimony. Just like a regular grand jury.

    If Trump wanted to give a plea of insanity, he'd be putting a very solid case together. But its clear that Trump's mea rea was on the intent of 'proving' the perceived fraud, rather than to perpetuate it.

    Anyone in the past who had been paying attention to Welker's reporting on anything pertaining to Trump saw how she always gave Trump a pass.

    I'm not sure there's a reporter on the planet who can talk over the perpetual liar... I have no major problems with Welker in general...

    The only solution is to stop giving him a platform... Permanently....

    The only exception should be a POTUS debate, which he won't attend, since he's not mentally capable of participating...

    My exact thoughts.....they are doing harm to democracy by allowing the fire hose of falsehood to spread his lies mostly unchallenged. The two parties are not the same today when it comes to having ANY lines or rules. The Trump Party can't be treated any longer as having any moral compass nor following the rule of law. The media has to keep their focus on preserving democracy as they will be the FIRST casuality under a Trump autocracy.

    CNN — Pro-Donald Trump lawyer Lin Wood is a “witness for the state” in the Georgia election subversion case, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis revealed Wednesday. The reference to Wood was buried in a new court filing by the DA’s office that raised potential conflicts of interest for six defense attorneys because they previously represented witnesses or other defendants in related proceedings.

    Wood was previously subpoenaed by prosecutors in the Georgia probe but his status as a witness for the state was not previously known. “Lin Wood is a witness for the State in the present case,” the court filing says.

    As a witness, Wood could be subject to cross-examination by his former attorney and co-counsel who is now representing former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark in the Georgia RICO probe – creating a potential conflict of interest.

    Wood, a prominent right-wing attorney and election denier, filed a series of meritless lawsuits after then-President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, which were filled with debunked theories about massive voter fraud that went nowhere in the courts.'

    Your post got me to thinking (uh oh! lol). Not just in the Georgia case, but in all, Trump proclaims he is innocent of the charges and has a perfect explanation. If it were me, and I knew I was innocent or have a good explanation, I would request a meeting with the prosecutor to come in and discuss it, and if my reasoning was good enough, come up with a viable solution to the situations.
    The only three reasons Trump doesn't I can come up with are:
    A. He isn't as innocent as he proclaims
    B. Fear of saying something stupid, making matters worse.
    C. He wants this as he feels it makes him sort of a martyr, which is actually happening to a degree.
    It could be a combination of all three, but IF he were so innocent and has good explanations as he says, why doesn't he seem willing to do what I outlined above?
    It worked for Hillary, as she sat for an 8 hour interview with the FBI, after which they determined her case was unprosecutable.
    Just a random thought for a Thursday morning.
    I'm sure a Trump supporter of two can explain why these ideas are ridiculous.

    He's mentally unstable...

    He hid it well enough (most days) during his failed presidency, but now that he cannot hide behind others fronting the administration, it's crystal clear.
