I know, but you have already implied Biden should win over Trump. I am interested to see your list of reasons why.
    TIA

I believe that Biden is a fool but a decent man. Trump is a fool, a coward and a dishonest man.

I'm still weighing that. Not long ago I would have said Haley. She's leaning hard into the culture war bull **** right now though, which is a turn off for me, but maybe all of the GOP candidates feel like that have to do that in the primaries, so not a deal breaker necessarily.

I think the Democrats are vulnerable. I just don't think they're vulnerable if Trump is the Republican nominee. DeSantis is very Trump-like in policy but is more likable. Both Haley and Pence are experienced. Both are articulate. Haley is a classy lady. Pence is a gentleman, and he is not tainted by January 6th. All three would give the Republicans a chance.

All Democrats would vote for a ham sandwich if it had a (D) next to its name if the opponent is Trump. Some Republicans will probably not vote if the candidate is Trump. Add to that the fact that the key to winning are the Independents who are somewhere around a third of the electorate. Whoever wins the majority of the Independents is the most likely winner. Trump won them narrowly in 2016, but he lost them by a large margin in 2020. And that was before January 6th. I do not believe the majority of them are going to go back to him no matter how bad the Democrats are.

Frankly, Mike, as long as Trump remains the front runner in the Republican Party, I think a Democratic win in 2024 is a foregone conclusion.

Also, I think this current administration is awful on virtually every level. And so it's a little depressing that Trump's supporters can't see the forest for the trees. They are going to insure a Democrat wins in 2024. Four more years of a failing old man, or our utter dunce who is currently the VP, or maybe Gavin Newsome, or whoever. *smh*

    As my nieces would say:

There probably aren't many issues I agree with Pence on, but I respect the man and wouldn't lose any sleep over him in office. I'm disappointed with some of Haley's pandering, but I guess that's part of the game, and I think she'd pivot back toward the center if she got the nomination. My dream scenario would be a moderate republican in the oval office and a slight Dem majority in Congress to check them.

I voted Libertarian in 2016 (as I have been voting since 1988) and the country lost its collective mind and elected Trump. As long as the GOP refuses to walk away from Trump and the Trump wannabes I'm voting Democrat.

Sorry, Pence disqualified himself when he accepted the VP slot under Trump. As George Will said before Trump had picked his running mate, "They already know the only important thing about Trump’s choice: His running mate will be unqualified for high office because he or she will think Trump is qualified."

The truth is, I don't think anyone can agree with any one candidate 100% of the time. There will always be something you don't like about a candidate or you have a policy difference on. So really, when we vote for President, we're really voting for the one we agree with the most, even if not 100%, and we know that some people vote for the one that they like the most. And, you see, this is what gives the Republicans a chance in 2024 if they nominate someone other than Trump.

So what exactly does did he do? Was he on missions with them, or in the rear advising what was “too much”?
If he was out there with a knife in his teeth, I had not heard about it.
    So link me up Scotty!

Too soon to tell. Trump sucks up all the publicity!
I think DeSantis strength is that he is a republican and preaches and governs with republican principles most of the time. But DeSantis has it easy. He has a well run state with a good economy.
Trump is a republican because we only have two parties, so a lot of republicans were unhappy thinking it was their turn to run, and Trump stole it! The old republican guard hates Trump because he reminds them their days are numbered. They are the ”post WW2” American, whereas Trump and DeSantis are the “pre-China” America.
DeSantis has not spoken much about his plans for China, whereas everyone knows Trump will do something about China.

His principled actions on 6 January are in his favor.

Pence's choices were to side with Trump or not to side with Trump. It didn't take "principles" to see which way was the right way. Pence spent 3 years 350 days as Trump's lapdog. His "principled" stand 15 days before Biden took the oath of office was, as the saying goes, too little, too late.

We disagree. Pence was under political pressure from Trump and physical threat from the mob.

Biden has had two incredibly productive years. What are you suggesting-- that he's done? Has no more goals? Ironically, that would be an improvement, in the eyes of most on the Right, who have been fighting against most of what he has so far accomplished, and who are uneasy about what other policies he might pursue. But our country, our system/society & our government are all still in need of repair. After waiting for this job for 40 years, I assure you that Biden would not just be sitting in his ass on a golf cart, like some people, if and when he gets a second term.

And FYI, even aside from Trump, the GOP's image has taken more of a hit, since Biden's been in office, than has Biden's image. With all the anti-abortion legislation, the evasion of addressing the issue of gun violence, instead focusing on attacking drag shows, while Republicans in the House supply no solutions, only legion propaganda investigations, the sinking Party starts with an R, not a D.

I read that he was at Guantanamo, justifying "enhanced interrogation" techniques.

How are they making it harder to tell a person's Party affiliation? This does not even seem reasonable, as many voters go on little else. So what preferable alternative, for those voters, would not knowing the candidates' Parties, hope to achieve-- random guessing?

But other things have happened since that election, which many might find detract from Trump's appeal-- or have you not heard?
