    I'm arguing that Putin may not be as interested in swallowing Ukraine as protecting the freedom fighters in eastern Ukraine that Ukraine is currently bombing and starving.

    Lol, those "freedom fighters" are his pawns to justifying taking territory. Maybe he won't swallow all of the Ukraine, but he'll probably take the bits he is interested in.

    One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Viewing either side as righteous is absurd. It's all a big game played by oligarchs. I'm not under the illusion that the Ukrainian governement is pure as the driven snow, but neither am I under the illusion that those "freedom fighters" for the most part are not Russian backed mercenaries and local strongmen trying to grab a piece of the power.

    Neither Ukraine or Russia is any more righteous than the PM-turned-dictator Trudeau in Canada. Why aren't we more concerned with the tyranny at our northern border than what's happening in Ukraine?? I think our priorities are screwed up.

    Wearing masks in Canada is a completely internal affair that doesn’t affect the rest of the world in the least, beyond some complications in commerce due to roads being clogged up. The situation in Ukraine could easily boil up into WW3, affecting every nation on earth. They are not comparable in importance at all. That’s probably why.

    in other words: the Ukrainian army should not have been prevented from continuing to kill the inhabitants of Donbass. What is the life of 3.5 million people compared to WW3? ;-)
