    Successful at what?
Neither is true - but you say "IMO" so no one can fault you personally. In addition to that it can be argued that skill is necessary for just about anything so there's truth in what you say even if you didn't intend it. I just think that you exclusively equate formal education with skill - and on that conviction, I disagree completely.

What's with the alternating upper and lower case words that you sometimes use?

Consuming data and critical thinking are not the same thing. I have the highest respect for those that invest in their education in the interest of being a productive member of society. Unfortunately, many are no better off and are of little use to society. Thats why they can't pay off their student debt and need society to bail them out.

The world is full of educated derelicts. The same people claiming to care about the less fortunate are the first to look down their noses at them.

Is that why you and I need to pay their student debt for them?

Stats show that educated people earn better, overall, than uneducated people.
    https://www.bls.gov/emp/chart-unemployment-earnings-education.htm

I don't disagree with you, I'm just saying of the two groups,. the odds are better for less ignorance in the educated group.

Otherwise, why would Trump 'love the uneducated'? Because they, in their ignorance, are more gullible that they believe his demagoguery.

Whats wrong with loving people? Those believing trump will work in their best interest are no less gullible than democrats.

Then you and I are not looking at the same set of facts about Trump.

You did finally admit to the results showing how gullible voters are believing that dems are better for society. You blamed neoliberalism, but at least noticed results. Voters don't seem to care about facts.

They serve a very important function.

You are just too out of touch with the times to get it, Boomer. :)

Neoliberalism is a right wing thing, not a left wing thing.

The ONLY neoliberal dem that I know of was Bill Clinton, an anomaly in democratic politics.

That fact does not equal 'blaming dems'.

Yet when dems enjoy complete control, high taxes, and abundant resources, results tell a different story. If giving dems lots of money doesn't correct this problem, why keep doing it. Do you know the definition of insanity?

All of that is the opposite of neoliberalism.

my gawd, man do you even know what the term 'neoliberalism' means?

    Source, Wikipedia:

    Neoliberalism:

Neoliberalism is contemporarily used to refer to market-oriented reform policies such as "eliminating price controls, deregulating capital markets, lowering trade barriers" and reducing, especially through privatization and austerity, state influence in the economy.

I think a lot of the time people with high academic achievement don't have achievement anywhere else in their lives so they place a high importance on academic achievement not that academic achievement is not an achievement it is and the people who achieve highly in it should be proud.

But I get what you're saying that some of them act like that's the only achievement that matters and I think that this is the type of people who I referred to earlier in the post

You are the one using it to blame the conditions where dems are in complete control.

There are lots of ways to acquire the skills though. I have no issue with people who learn on the job. I have no issue with people who do trade schools. I have no issue with people with phd's (well other than they are all weird). I just find it funny and sad that people are so resentful of people who go to college though. Not just resentful, but often arrogant and hateful toward us.

They are often arrogant and hateful toward us because we are often arrogant and hateful toward them. :) We make appeal to authority arguments. We say things like “har, har, Trump loves the poorly educated”, like being poorly educated makes one stupid or less valuable as a human. We make elitist comments about blue collar work being beneath us and inherently low class.

Agree that knowledge can be gained in many ways. We all have different learning styles. Some just don’t do well with our Prussian education model. The Prussian model labeled T. Edison a dolt.

And yet you are unable to say what that so called "important function" is. How telling.

Since when was someone who is in their 30's a "boomer?" That would include you if you are in fact the age that your profile suggests!

You asked a question with an obvious answer so you must not be paying attention. Go to bed now and no comic books.

Oh, it's "obvious" why someone would interchangeably use upper and lower case in a word? I've been on here since 2017, and Ritter is the only poster I have seen use it.

That's your own fault. You need to stop relying on comic books for your education.
