So to phrase your question properly .. given this wonderful new distinction you have just made .. What do I think of the Nato Chiefs suggestion that Bakhmut may fall in days ? .. I would say it dependes how much longer Wagner wants to play with its food ?

Ever since going on the defensive .. Bakhmut has been a war of attrition -- the objective not to gain territory .. sans a few strategic moves .. and what a wonderful war this has been from a Russian Perspective . Casualty ratio .. even if not 7-1 .. at least 5-1 on a regular day .. fill up the grinder .. turn into sausage .. the next day fill up again... if the ratio were 1-1 .. that would be horrible for Ukraine .. from an attrition standpoint - Word on the street is Putin has 750,000 troops ready to Go .. air defense crumbling .. and they just took the last road in/out of the city ..

The US is not stupid and we have assets watching what happens with money we provide to Ukraine. Of just as in any country there are small time operators who have been caught scamming but they have been outed and arrested by the Zelenskyy government. Some people in the US omit tax fraud and other scams one being a firmer president. Things like that need to be watched and the law needs to respond to such violations.

 

There have been reports of Ukrainian troops being surrounded in many places. Kherson was one of those places until it wasn’t. Not saying that the Ukrainian troops are not in precarious situations but I would think that the Ukrainian command has reserve forces ready to crack a Russian attempt to surround.
