Electric vehicle battery factory will require so much energy it needs a coal plant to power it!

The historical record is the historical record. Your use of the false "astroturf" allegation against WUWT is merely a demonstration of your denial.

Around here it is. You can keep your vehicle running for decades if you're willing to go junk hunting.

you are using an astroturf site to try and disprove there are astroturf sites. I gave you three citations from a variety of sources

But why were those cars there in the first place?

Because they were replaced for any number of reasons. Doesn't mean they don't still have value.

But that's yet another reason ICE is vastly superior to EV. No matter how much the climate zealots want to lie.

All the original documents are cited in the post. The fact that you use the false "astroturf" allegation has no bearing on the facts in the historical record.

I know what you mean. I have an old ICE at home. It's comfortable and fantastic.

You imply that electric cars can't be salvaged? I'm betting if a Tesla is bingled every battery pack will be salvaged.

Yes. EVs are inherently technically inferior to ICE. I've explained it a number of times. And the weakness is in the basic physics of the vehicle.

    There's no magic solution available.

But ICE vehicles have a lot of salvage value. Always have had.

    EVs don't.

Confused.com because I wasn't talking about Tesla being the only one making EV's. I'm merely pointing out the fact that Tesla and Musk wouldn't be here if it wasn't for government money.

What you covered in your post was completely meaningless to my post.

Correct, he wasn't forced to start the company. If it wasn't for government money, Tesla and Musk wouldn't be here.

I was just dropped off at Central DC in a Ford Mustang Electric, AWD. 3 hour trip from West Virginia. Incredible car...I completely reject what you're saying and declare it to be absolute nonsense.

Look up the word Torque and electric versus diesel. Sorry Nonnie but I am over “Brandolini’s law. It often takes me hours debunking rubbish that the original spreaders then turn around and refuse to even look at. I will point people in the right direction but after that……

Are they now the only ones in the market? The market has moved on and will ye or nil ye change is coming. One of the biggest will be in what they are now callin* “microtransit” https://www.cutr.usf.edu/microtransitlowspeed/ or “micromobility”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micromobility Big compact cities like London will see this happening more and more.

That would be tough to find since there aren't that many EVs on the road in this country. Even fewer out where I live.

But a lot of EVs are basically a ton or so of battery integrated into the chassis. There are relatively few independent components. While an ICE vehicle has an engine that alone has a bunch of reusable pieces, an EV is a big battery with a couple electric motors and maybe a steering wheel and a shifter. And no junkyard will want the batteries. Just a hazardous waste nightmare waiting to happen. Not even sure if you could get permitted for that.

This is why I was so interested in the proposal to reuse (not recycle) the batteries for grid storage. We would not need the “full” charge that EVs require
