States will measure that as they form policy on relaxing (or strengthening) existing policy as necessary.

I think the real issue here is that all medical experts are saying that having adequate testing capacity as well as trained personell in contact tracking are requirements for opening.

And, we have totally inadequate testing and really no contract tracking capability. In fact, our testing capacity is reducing - not increasing.

You should join me in lobbying for increased testing capacity as a serious national priority.

LOL - quite true. The restrictions are not well communicated and some of it is undoubtedly being enforced without reasonable consideration.

But, that's not the national issue.

CA imposed these restrictions before they had high counts, too.

Taking these actions only after pandemic strikes your area is NOT how to be protected.

True but we haven’t had new cases in weeks. Our single case was several weeks ago. We are very sparsely populated and spread out.

    I do get your concern.

My answers have been oriented to the general situation. They do point to real concers states have, but I'm sure there are cases that general response seems like overkill.

We have no travel restrictions within the US. If your city were opened, it might well be the case that people would come there for the various amenities that being open provides - shops, work, restaurants, theaters, etc. These would all be opportunities for your location to be infected regardless of your smaller city size.

In general, the US has been losing hospitals and hospital capabilities in lower population areas. I've seen interviews in the media with smaller regional hospital personell who say about the only thing they can do for COVID patients is to try to transport them to some larger city hospital. Unfortunately, by the time of hospitalization the disease progresses pretty rapidly.

One day a rogue man went paddle boarding alone. The next day 100 men went paddle boarding "alone"

Almost as terrifying of a thought as the man who was arrested for throwing the baseball with his son in an empty park. We must stop that crazy ****.

What is ridiculous? Do you think that if they allowed one person to go boarding others won't also go boarding?

We are arresting fathers for throwing the ball with their kid, arresting someone paddle boarding alone, prohibiting people from going to their own homes. Now stop and think about that. This is America.

That does not negate our rights as Americans. It's scary how easily some are willing to give up their own rights. Our civil liberties still exist even if there are sick people.

You can also tell that to business owners and families who can't pay their mortgage or buy food.

Don't know any. Sorry. But yeah, there's always risk in running your own business. If you can't weather a few months of being down then you were probably going to fail eventually anyway. That said, I'm all for the gubmit to step in and help out small biz. This is an act of God, not a tin foil hat, knuckle dragging conspiracy.

Yep, risk in business, especially when you are forced closed by the government with no alternatives for work. I guess that's a risk most haven't thought of. It's sad how little you care about the working people and business owners of this country.

Good example, there is a small business owner in my town. She owns an antique store in this small mountain tourist town. She lives on her own and is in her 60's. She has no other option for work right now, still no self employed unemployment set up since that's a whole new thing for states and it's taking time, still no SBA loan and that's not designed for her to support herself, just to help cover the businesses expenses. She's been with zero income for over a month with no opening date. When she does open, not sure how many tourist will be passing through since that was most of her business. This is one single example of real people who are hurting. There are hundreds of thousands more, which you care zero about judging from your post.

Both Amazon and Walmart deliver. I've already ordered a 3 vessel HERMS brewing system and paint. All delivered to my front door. If you want it you can get it! It might just take a few more days then usual. There is no f***ing excuse to be jamming up stores and risking others' heath to get a gdamn coffee pot.

So you're saying the rise in Italian deaths is due to a massive spike in 80 year olds?

There is also no ****ing excuse for a governor to be infringing on the civil rights of the people. They can't go to their own homes in another town? Who the **** does she think she is to tell people they cannot go to their own property? Who the **** does she think she is to tell people what items they cannot buy in a store that is open. This is still America. Stop excusing this bullshit.

if we did not shut down businesses and require no social distancing, we would have had 2 million dead.

    Pro-Life, my ass.
