The silence is golden.
LoL I didn't even know it was posted. I don't live on this forum like you do. Let me read it and I'm sure it's complete crap.
More conjecture, thanks for that. The whole thing is based on third party information and guesses from him to fill in the holes.
Quit wasting peoples time with this garbage.
Well, I'm sure 911's "official" BS is complete crap too. Hence, the impossibility of open minded discussion, wouldn't you say?
You could just let the "nutters" ramble on and kill the concerted effort to mute them. Just a suggestion.
When a dumb ass falsely yells 'fire' in a crowded place, trying to panic people, a sane person steps up to show that there is no fire.
Hannibal nailed it, there is no reason to let you truthers run around spreading disinformation at will. I have respect for the people that died that day, and I have no problem with coming here to combat your woo. Call me whatever you want, shill, government agent, whatever. You're the same exact thing. You're a shill for the truth movement. You come here more than I do....way more than I do. You post constantly, you have a rebuttal for everything, even if it's just calling that person a shill. You're just as much a part of the "sheeple" as anyone else. You believe anything that's told to you as long as it's anti-government.
You, as well, could just leave and let the "debunkers" relish in the fact that we are correct in our observations. Why don't you?
You constantly whine, and complain about how there is no honest debate. Then people like Fang, Hannibal, Left, cj, etc come here and provide evidence to destroy your claims. You call us shills and move on like nothing ever happened.
I'm not exactly sure what the "gotcha" aspect of this link is supposed to be. Is it that the NSA refused to fact check a document based on speculation? What does knowing the "plumbing" of the NSA get us?
So the NSA doesn't follow any rules.
Read both, my reply, "Fearmongering sells papers."
Both "reports" do nothing but try to add a creepy aire to perfectly normal goings on. The government has accidentally gathered some Americans information, and it's possible it may keep doing so. What I don't see is if that information was ever used for a damn thing. It doesn't say, in either "report", that any convictions or arrests were made due to the gathered data. It doesn't say if anyone was questioned, or if the "illegally" (I use that term lightly) obtained information was used for anything.
There's a lot of speculation in those articles that it "could", "possibly", or "maybe" used for some shady things, but I don't see any evidence it actually happened. It looks like the government has fessed up that it happens and according to that article they even get busted when they do it. It must suck to be afraid all the time.
Strange huh? The NSA, we found out today, lied even more to cover up their most recent lies. Geez, and I trusted the good folks.
Right there we know it's going to be jam packed with fear mongering.
No, "they" don't, your carrier does in the form of metadata. Strawman and a bit of a red herring in one.
Listening to a phone call in real time is extremely complicated. If it weren't, the police wouldn't be using body wires anymore. They'd just tap into peoples phone's at will. It's not impossible, but it's definitely not cost efficient or anyones first choice.
Can they? Can they really? Last I heard they could get some of the information, like metadata. Where it's coming from, where it's sent, maybe the subject line. I doubt they're reading your emails, why would they even want to? If they want to get into an emails body they have to get a warrant.
Hahahah OooooOOOOoOOOOo about me and mine? LoL, prove it lady. Give me any form of evidence that the government has information about me and mine on any server anywhere. Maybe there is some information about some people stored, but this is complete crap. This person is making this (*)(*)(*)(*) up whenever she wants.
Yes, I tend to get all of my knowledge on extremely technical issues from an 88 year old journalist and Libertarian. I also listen when told to "Stay off of his lawn" or I'll get the cane again. I can't roll my eyes enough.
Why not? Let's throw all of them in there! It's an amendment invading party!! 4th, 1st, hell, about the 6th? The NSA could slow down your speedy trial! They're all powerful! All your amendments are in danger!
Definitely not my problem. I don't do illegal things so I say whatever the hell I want, whenever the hell I want. Let the government read about it if they're that bored. I couldn't care less. Scary though, implying people are stupid enough to censor themselves when they're sending good ol' pop pop an email.
This sounds like something a stoner would say. Dood, deep.
The rest of the article is just him rattling on about the 1st amendment because he, somehow, tied them together earlier in the article. This article is horrible. I'm not sure what the point of this was, I am left asking myself, "Who cares?"
I don't think that's true. I don't know for sure of course but I just don't think it's true. Software can do what you say a billion people listening to calls and reading emails can do. I believe they've been listening and reading with software and have lots of juicy stuff unrelated to terrorism. They just can't act on it yet.
I am fine with that being what you believe, but reality isn't based on your belief structure. It's based on rock hard facts, and I know there isn't software that can do what you guys are claiming. So believe whatever you'd like, it's your tin foil.
