Also, a check of Pistol License records shows that Senator Schumer possesses an "unrestricted" pistol permit, a rarity in New York City.

Even homicide statistics can be a little difficult to compare as some countries have different categories for homicide i.e. ist second and third degree murder versus murder or manslaughter

It is n worse with crimes like rape -as we have seen recently in India it is not enough to have legislation - one must also have the police to follow through with charges and the legal will to proceed with those charges.

The way statistics are collected within countries also makes a difference - i.e. shoplifting could be placed under robbery. theft or "a right nuisance"

yep, things have changed, kids today can't share their music with friends legally, when we were kids we could share... loan someone our record, our tape, our books, whatever, today kids are taught not to share, told sharing is bad...

Your attempt to blame a school grounds weapons ban is surely the worst yet. Your logic thus says that if there was not a weapons ban then it was likely that on the day in question a person in the area would have been armed and would have ably stopped the shooting.

The trouble is, no massacre in the US has ever been prevented by an armed civilian. Therefore the evidence shows its not a solution, thats probably why the experts ie the police, are against the notion.

Yes the knife laws do effect gangs... they can only carry tiny knives around. Thus reducing the injuries sustained. Thats why the police wanted the law made this way.

Allow me to clarify.. The congress aren't going to take any of the guns away. I highly doubt this. They simply don't have the support for it.

They tried to ressurect the assault rifle ban five times since it expired in 2004. It was voted on once and got crushed.. The other four times it never even made it to the floor.

Meanwhile, your first, fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth amendments are thoroughly butchered by legislation that has been passed.

That's why I think you should look the other way.. Instead of getting worked up about rights they may or may not take tomorrow, or you think they might take tomorrow, do something about the rights that they are taking TODAY as we speak and yesterday.. Make sense?
