    It wasn’t for the state, it was to defend federal property because the state was not acting competent enough to safeguard federal property. Portland has nobody to blame for the need of federal personnel except themselves. You can’t tell me with a straight face that Portland PD could keep federal property from being damaged when the city has hamstrung them so badly.

    Trust me, if there was ever an option for states to exclude federal law enforcement from within its borders, I would have been up at my governors mansion screaming at the top of my lungs until he kicked out the ATF, DEA, and IRS. I wasn't because this is well-established law: the Feds don't need the state's permission or request to do their jobs there.

    I'm going to age myself but back in the late 60's and early 70's going to protest rallies was a good way to get laid on a regular basis. Wonder if this has changed much.

    You have to follow the entire thread to know why I called them "troops", and in quotes

    This seems like the most obvious piece of advice on the protests in Portland and elsewhere I've read and it came from a Republican.

    Um the DHS isn’t a military force...and frankly i don’t understand how South America has anything to with DHS.

    Sounds like she was frisked...maybe she should be at the sight of the Court House that has been under assault by leftist terrorist. I am glad to see she isn’t spreading the lie that they aren’t wearing markings on their uniforms ID themselves.
