Heritage is a known NRA supporter and yes there is a TON of research showing that most so called DGUs are either a exaggeration or in actual fact a borderline criminal activity

If arming everyone worked this would not be the underpinning stats

Ooooh! Lookee! The countries with “gun control” show up paler than those with more lenient laws and yes there is research supporting that too

Nope. It never was. The increase in crime has more to do with the anti-cop, pro-criminal politicians.

Seeing how crime is down where gun ownership is prevalent and crime is up where it isn't, then your source is incorrect.

we heard the gun bannners' lamentations when CC and shall issue laws were passed. These professional boo-hooers said blood would run in streets and people would be shooting each other over parking spaces and blue light specials at K-Mart. It didn't happen but these gun banners continue to to spew dishonest tales of doom and gloom. The fact is this: the anti gun movement is inherently dishonest. It is dishonest about its real goals, it is dishonest about gun owners and it is nothing more than a hard core operation for the extreme left

that in the last 30 years the rate of violent crime in the USA has gone way down and the number of guns in circulation and legally on the streets have gone way up

It hasn't been proven that with increased gun ownership, follows an increase in violent crime.

Some people think that's possible. They ignore things like Mexico, where there is only one store to buy guns in the nation, run by the government... and the cartels carry machine guns and kill anyone they want.
Laws do not make criminals behave. The only people that are affected by gun laws are the law-abiding citizens who pose no risk in the first place.

As I've said over and over- it's not the guns who murder, it's the people. Let's say you want to commit a mass murder, but you can't get your hands on a gun. So being resourceful, you take some fertilizer from the garage and some sugar from the kitchen- and make yourself a bomb.

Yes, that can be done with everyday, open market materials in the average kitchen. Everything is a weapon. You would be amazed how many people die from dihydrogen monoxide, found all over the world, yet it's still not regulated. Something more for you to worry about.

Bowerbird... "Where's your research?". Here you go on that one.

    https://www.newsmax.com/us/homicides-rate-drops/2024/04/16/id/1161206/
The number of homicides has sharply fallen in most major cities in the U.S. — the fastest plunge in decades, according to information compiled by a crime-data analyst.

Please! There has been a decades long very lucrative illegal trade smuggling guns into Mexico from America
I am the one who posts the links to the DHMO website so that is apropos of nothing but are you attempting to use that as a shoulder shrug excusing gun deaths?

Bottom line - since 1996 we have only had five mass shooting murders ending with more than four people dead. This is the sixth mass murder (> 4 dead) since 1996. Of the five 2 were family murder/ suicides on rural properties where guns are allowed and one was the Weiambilla incident where 3 people were shot and then the three perpetrators were shot.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_massacres_in_Australia

I haven’t included the “car attacks” and a couple of others like the Churchill fire

Come to that how is the correlation between crime and economic strength?

And how well are those laws enforced? This smuggling is VERY lucrative for the arms industry.

You were (by clear implication) telling @Bowerbird she is posting on a 'foreign' Board.
