    You are arguing they were not charged as such and thus it was not an insurrection. Meaning you take issue with the definition of the word. Feel free to participate in the breakdown of the definition above

    BLM should be punished, I'm not debating that. Im debating that they are not even close to equal in their cause/effect/intent. BLM looting a target is a local issue under local jurisdiction. BLM went with the intent of getting justice from the local police for their perceived bias against black people. Jan 6th was people going to the US capital with the intent to overthrow a free and fair election, if not the entire government.

    Put it this way, if BLM fully succeeded that Target store would be rubble.......if Jan 6th succeeded, we would no longer have free and fair elections.

    Do those two options sound remotely equal ?

    What you’ve described happens waaaaaaaay more frequently by the left than anyone else. You can start with MLK, work your way through the viet nam protests, then think of Rodney King, Ferguson, Baltimore, New York, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, right up to last summer. Most protests/riots by the left are against our government in some form or another.

    There was no way 1/6/was ever going to be successful, no way.

    If the 1/6 people committed crimes then they should be punished, but so should the blm rioters, many who got a free pass as well as free TVs. That 1/6 happened in the location it did is meaningless, especially since protests in DC are commonplace.

    There are whatabouts that are relevant, and there are those that are not.

    Unfortunately, the right is unable to grasp the difference.

    For example, BLM/Antifa is irrelevant to 1/6, because 1/6 was but for one man, the president. Antifa/BLM is but for NOT one man.

    If you are going to make comparisons, they have to be apples to apples.

    For example, you say Biden is corrupt, and point to scant evidence.

    And I say, how can corruption be a problem with you since Trump is corrupt, and we have hard evidence and you support Trump ?

    That is a RELEVANT whatboutism because both are presidents, one on each side.

    Do you understand now?

    I suspect not.

    If I’m to understand you, a relevant whataboutism would be mentioning the left’s claim of the 2016 election being stolen when they criticize anyone who makes the same claim about 2020. Or mentioning Biden’s history of racism and abuse of women whenever those claims are made about a former president. Did I understand you correctly?
