If you thing GM foods are carcinogens than you have not done any research on the subject.

As far as round up goes, its use is insignificant.

I am sure there is a farm out there that does, go ahead and name it, hopefully you do not need to google the answer otherwise your just speaking from ideology and propaganda.

You name a farm using growth hormones and I will name two that are not.

go ahead, and be a bit specific, you should know the name of the growth hormone and some details, you did not post details so I think your googling your idea as you go, but that is another matter

    so go ahead, educate us.

I forgot, these organically raised shrimp in Asia are soaked in a carcinogen anti-biotic. It's a '2-fer'....You either get a nasty bacterial infection or cancer (depending on whether or not the 'delicacies' were adequately soaked or not). Look.....shrimp eat sh!t...Pig sh!t (in Asia) why would anybody want to eat even one? Yaaaaag

You just struck a nerve with me talking about food imported from China. They raise their hogs in landfills and then import the meat to the U.S. Everything I feed to my pigs other than commercial pig food has to be boiled...even food I raise here myself.

Its would be funny if it were not so sad. The playing field is tilted their way.

    Heat kills the salmonella bug.

So boil your shrimp before you eat it.

Yes and be careful cleaning it too...

"People have gotten fish TB from fish spine punctures, cleaning fish/shrimp/crabs, getting scratched on fish tanks, from rose bushes and injuring bare feet in parking lots (infected water transferred via air during storms), mouth-siphoning fish tanks, dolphin bites, diving around reefs, splinters from fish net handles, etc. - Usually not fatal. Can get into joints and mimic arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome."

GM foods lack certain nutrients, and force imbalances on the human body, making it pull those nutrients from somewhere else. (that's one issue...there are more).

Roundup ISN'T insignificant. It's repeated use is cumulative and in the same way that it "hugs" weeds to death, it "hugs" internal body parts to death.

I think YOU need to do more research.

    your speaking bt?

and as far as gm foods, which ones, seriously, are you speaking of dna strains, those do not replace anything, or are you speaking of rna strains, not that it matters, neither is a concern, not in such a tiny amount.

not trying to antagonize you, just saying I have read a bit and really see no real information being posted.

bt, I see zero danger from bt, I would have to google that to see if its round up, I think it may be.

Any farm growing AquaAdvantage(tm) Salmon. It is a genetically engineered variety of salmon whose modified DNA produces excessive Alaska Salmon growth hormone to cause the salmon to grow twice the size and twice as fast.

I didn't need to google it... I am in opposition to the Salmon, because they feed it the same, it's 2x as big, so I see it as 1/2 the nutrition. Also it has growth hormone in the meat, and the fish looks even more horrible than regular salmon. It looks bloated weird. They only chop it up when feeding to people, and the US Government does not require labeling, allowing it to be labeled 100% Salmon and there is no marking GMO. It produces the growth hormone of Alaskan Salmon and it has the growth hormone regulator gene of a fungus "pout fish".

Round Up is basically glyophosate...Here is the National Pesticide Information Center with all the facts on the herbicide.

    http://npic.orst.edu/factsheets/glyphotech.html#chem

None of the data suggests any significantly adverse affects for humans even when some tried to commit suicide by drinking the stuff.

That leaves out True North Salmon as well as BC Salmon farms, no genetically modified fish or growth hormones. Whole Foods is a good place to buy farm raised Salmon.

while I googled it and according to google the salmon grow to the same size, no bigger, just at a faster rate, the hormone is a natural hormone at the same levels of wild salmon. that is of course from the aquaadvantage website.

I will eat it, I do not eat enough salmon to be concerned, I also shop at bristol farms where I can get wild salmon.

still, I do not see it as big deal, people will have a choice, farmed fish is clearly labeled as such, I have been eating farmed fish a long time, but again, not that often,

thanks for the information, it is frustrating to see people post without providing the names and what they speak of, sincerely, thanks,

I love shrimp. I eat it boiled and fried and I don't care if is farm raised or not. I usually eat what tastes good.

I would like to see GM food labled just so the consumer can make a choice not because I see it as harmful.

Some people see hazards in everything.

I don't spend my life worring about every little thing. Life will eventually kill you so you may as well enjoy it while you can.

If GM food is so bad then why don't food producers volunteer to place a great big label reading: GMO FREE! and ask more $$$$$ for it? Milk producers already do that and if you buy anything "organic" labeled, open your wallet some more. Hey if you wanna do that, great! But don't make ME have to pay more for your BS labeling. I'll buy the cheaper stuff.

Most supermarkets do sell better quality food alongside the less healthy food (ex. whole grain bread next to the white bread), so this is pretty histrionic.

If the GMO crap is so great, why aren't they chomping at the bit to advertise their latest advancement? You know...like "New".. "Improved" that kind of thing instead of fighting tooth and nail to hide their "wonderful" technology? (probably because ummm....well...it's "not too good"). Ya think?

Thank you for calling it that. It's a very respectful name of the city.

It was named Stalingrad during its worst time of history when 90% of the whole city was controlled by Nazi forces. Currently pockets of McDonald's, Subway, and other American food abominations are plaguing the city and its residents, but the worst of history will not be forgotten. Over a million people died protecting the city from foreign invasion.

It saddens me that anybody should eat the worst end of American filth.

Here is a video of some sick people eating MakDonald's food in Stalingrad while some birds come to ask for food. They say, "Funny birds. They can't eat this food".

Imagine! Food you cannot even feed to birds!!!

    http://www.ucsusa.org/food_and_agri...agriculture/they-eat-what-the-reality-of.html

You may be surprised, but you really don't know what's being fed to the animals you eat.

Same Species Meat, Diseased Animals, Feathers, Hair, Skin, Hooves, and Blood, Manure and Other Animal Waste, Drugs and Chemicals, Plant Stalks.

Are these ingredients legal? Unfortunately, yes. Nevertheless, some raise human health concerns. Others just indicate the low standards for animal feeds. But all are symptoms of a system that has lost sight of the appropriate way to raise food animals.

Same Species Meat, Diseased Animals, and Feathers, Hair, Skin, and Blood

The advent of "mad cow" disease (also known as bovine spongiform encephalopathy or BSE) raised international concern about the safety of feeding rendered[1] cattle to cattle. Since the discovery of mad cow disease in the United States, the federal government has taken some action to restrict the parts of cattle that can be fed back to cattle.

However, most animals are still allowed to eat meat from their own species. Pig carcasses can be rendered and fed back to pigs, chicken carcasses can be rendered and fed back to chickens, and turkey carcasses can be rendered and fed back to turkeys. Even cattle can still be fed cow blood and some other cow parts.

Under current law, pigs, chickens, and turkeys that have been fed rendered cattle can be rendered and fed back to cattle—a loophole that may allow mad cow agents to infect healthy cattle.

Animal feed legally can contain rendered road kill, dead horses, and euthanized cats and dogs.

Rendered feathers, hair, skin, hooves, blood, and intestines can also be found in feed, often under catch-all categories like "animal protein products."

    Manure and Other Animal Waste

Feed for any food animal can contain cattle manure, swine waste, and poultry litter. This waste may contain drugs such as antibiotics and hormones that have passed unchanged through the animals' bodies.(*)

The poultry litter that is fed to cattle contains rendered cattle parts in the form of digested poultry feed and spilled poultry feed. This is another loophole that may allow mad cow agents to infect healthy cattle.

Animal waste used for feed is also allowed to contain dirt, rocks, sand, wood, and other such contaminants.(*)

    Plastics

Many animals need roughage to move food through their digestive systems. But instead of using plant-based roughage, animal factories often turn to pellets made from plastics to compensate for the lack of natural fiber in the factory feed.

    Drugs and Chemicals

Animals raised in humane conditions with appropriate space and food rarely require medical treatment. But animals at animal factories often receive antibiotics to promote faster growth and to compensate for crowded, stressful, and unsanitary living conditions. An estimated 13.5 million pounds of antibiotics—the same classes of antibiotics used in human medicine—are routinely added to animal feed or water. This routine, nontherapeutic use of antibiotics speeds the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which can infect humans as well as animals. Antibiotic resistance is a pressing public health problem that costs the U.S. economy billions of dollars each year.

Some of the antimicrobials used to control parasites and promote growth in poultry contain arsenic, a known human carcinogen. Arsenic can be found in meat or can contaminate human water supplies through runoff from factory farms.

    Plant Stalks and Grains

One last surprise. While grain may sound like a healthful food, the excessive quantities fed to some animals are not. This is especially true for cattle, which are natural grass eaters. Their digestive systems are not designed to handle the large amounts of corn they receive at feedlots. As a result of this corn-rich diet, feedlot cattle can suffer significant health problems, including excessively acidic digestive systems and liver abscesses. Grain-induced health problems, in turn, ramp up the need for drugs.

Want to Change What Animals are Fed?

The rise in animal factories over the last 50 years has led to a system that is out of control.(*) Mad cow disease, increased liver abscesses, and the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria are just some examples of the damage that comes from unwise and often inhumane approaches to raising food animals.

As a consumer armed with information, you have the power to promote a modern approach to raising animals that is both productive and healthful. You can help to effect change by petitioning your government to feed animals and people the food they were meant to eat. (*)

The Stalin era was an over-reaction by the state to an existential threat, Nazism. The strong state mentality and absolute authority was vital and necessary to preserve the people against that darkest threat.

The great Russian people have eventually removed the tyranny from themselves until which time it's needed again.

The United States is currently creating tyranny to deal with its own problems of terrorism. However they are learning, that tyranny and terrorism are mutually inducing entities.

As the tyranny increases, terrorism increases and vice versa.

Times change my friend. Even as Russia embraces capitalism, the US embraces tyrannism. And the food sucks.

In essence the US Government is seeking to combat its problems by killing the very things that define America. Freedom and liberty for natural people. There is no food freedom for the people in America. They can't even grow and distribute natural food. It's illegal. Killing freedom because Rasputin corporations whisper fears of terrorist food distribution in its ears... The US Government is a betrayal to its natural people. Exactly what the founders didn't want when they said "We the People". WHY would the founders say "We the People"? OF COURSE the government is comprised of people! They wanted to exclude aristocracies, monarchies, corporations, etc. from creating a class of people above the people. Well today, US Corporations ARE that class of people with superior speech money, superior citizenship, superior government representation, loyalty and support. The US Government is in breach of the constitutional contract.

There are markets that sell the processed foods, AND the natural foods (fresh). And there are markets that only have fresh foods.

Its called choices. When people are free to make choices, sometimes they make good choices, sometimes they make bad choices. That obama was elected and reelected proves that bad choices do get made. That you are completely upset about bad choices in foods is further proof that bad choices exist. Many of us are aware that some people make bad choices, president, food, mate, clothes, shoes, lifestyle, etc. Their choice.
