You see a pattern because you want to see a pattern. There is no pattern. Go ahead and look at the actual numbers.

This is an old story and should not be in current events.

Looks like a bad copy in Nancy Pelosi, & Adam Schiff’s state.

Keep pushing that agenda and avoiding the facts.

There is no pattern. Takes more than a minuscule percentage to establish a pattern.

    Agenda before facts though right?

But police should be the only ones trusted with guns, right?

Ever heard of facts?....because you're doing a damn good job of avoiding them.

The facts prove you wrong, there is no pattern.

You wanna hate police, fine, you're allowed to hate whoever you want. But if you're going to try to argue that there's some sort of trend or pattern of criminality among them, you're going to get called out on it and proven wrong every single time.

    So.....carry on.

Oh, and as always, agenda before facts.....the modern left.

Researchers at Bowling Green State University and funded by the National Institute of Justice, which released the report identified 6,724 cases involving the arrests of 5,545 sworn officers across the nation between 2005 and 2011.

Researchers broke the cases of arrest into five broad categories:
    • sex-related police crime (1,475 arrest cases of 1,070 sworn officers)
    • alcohol-related police crime (1,405 arrest cases of 1,283 sworn officers)
    • drug-related police crime (739 arrest cases of 665 sworn officers)
    • violence-related police crime (3,328 arrest cases of 2,586 sworn officers)
    • profit-motivated police crime (1,592 cases of 1,396 officers)
    • Almost 95 percent of police crimes were committed by males.

What's the point to this thread?

That police officers can be good and bad just like anyone else in society?

Because this whole thread just seems like one stupid lame appeal to emotion.

It's not like this thread even bothered bringing up statistics or numbers.

    This is sad and sick...

California Highway Patrol officer George Gwaltney, 42, was convicted of handcuffing aspiring actress Robin Bishop after a routine traffic stop in the Mojave Desert, having sex with her in his patrol car, then shooting her in the head after she complained.

~ We have had a few criminals on the CHP. These are older , but I remember a few years ago a bully CHP beat a woman at an off ramp - excessive use if force. A few years before that a few LAPD recruits played shoot up on the Harbor Freeway "just for fun" .

This one is very old but I remember it well :

~ True. I wonder what kind of psychological screening new applicants undergo, and how often are they interviewed by a qualified psychologist while on the job ?
To me the cop in the Floyd case was a lit fuse that could easily be noticed by someone specifically trained in mental health for this purpose. He should have been forced out of police work years ago.

One of the least mentally stable people I know was trained as a trauma councilor and as a result knows what to say to pass a psych eval and now works in corrections. This persons mother is even less mentally stable (and the progenitor of the instability), but also got trained as a councilor and was able to 'fake' a psych eval well enough to work as a crisis negotiator for a well known federal law enforcement agency for several years before milking a 'knee injury' a bit too much and finally being let go.

Psychology as a science is just too subjective to be reliable.

Officer Craig Peyer placed Cara Knott's body on the hood of his patrol unit and then threw her off an abandoned highway bridge in which a unique gold thread from his uniform shirt emblem was later found on her body.

~ For the most part people in mental health are all nuts to some degree and should be seeing each other for therapy . ( as many do ) However it is all we have at the moment . They still help people more often than not .
Believe it or not the old polygraph exam is usually a reliable tool - to a point. Much depends on the examiner and the type of interview .
My suspicion is that lax and/or infrequent peer review and cronyism is a problem. The police unions likely contribute . Hiring police under the age of 30 is something I think needs to change.
Police departments are nothing like the old TV shows Adam-12 & Dragnet. They never were and never will be.

Not unusual, cop/security guard is the third most common profession for serial killers after driver and forestry worker, Dennis Nielsen, John Christie etc But all the cases quoted are a tiny, tiny minority and the US police are an exceptionally fine group of people.
