Your first button is wrong, should read "bad Cops"

none of us should support bad cops, all of us should support good cops, good cops should protect us from bad cops

so let me ask though, do you think having a gun would make you safer from a bad cop? guarantee you pull a gun on a bad cop, the other cops gonna see you as a threat

~ That does seem to be the problem. Perhaps more civilian oversight. Police investigating their own never made sense to me ...

That's common in government and professions.

Lawyers investigating their own, judges investigating their own, a board of medical doctors investigating their own...

If this is a problem, it's a much wider one than just police.

Statistics show that black people are systematically treated far worse than an other ethnicity. So your idea of "a few bad apples" is not based on facts, but on fiction/propaganda by the police and politicians. I didn't make them statistics that show that black people are treated worse systematically. They come from the FBI who keeps track of such things. It just is like that. And so,... there is no point to weed out what's rotten to find a few good cops. Do note, cops are civil servants paid by taxes. And it's simply far more efficient and cheaper to make a complete overhaul on it all... so the people who pay for being protected and served, get that service they are paying for. I dunno how this is so hard to grasp for you.

The corruption and brutality is linked to race. So if your feels get hurt here, than you can just leave this thread.

The systematic racism by the cops, shows that it can only done with a massive percentage.

Black people commit more violent crime than anyone else, the police go where the crime is. Until the black community confront this reality nothing will change. It's all their fault.

Sam Cabral, President of The International Union of Police Associations endorsed mafia boss President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.

The city that I live in pays 56% of its total yearly budget on police services with the poverty level for children at 24%.

American law enforcement has be infested with Right-wing extremist and crypto-fascists for many decades.

During the Reagan years police departments became more and more dominated by military veterans that were both police officers and members of the national guard. Gradually, the police departments became highly militaristic under the cover of "officer survival safety techniques," that required military surplus equipment and total objectification of the populace. Police officers with military backgrounds competed against one another for the most brutal, but passable arrest techniques. All US police departments switched from revolvers to semi-automatic 9mm pistols in the early 1980s which was the beginning of a massive arms build up of domestic police forces and national guard units.

One reason the US invaded Iraq was the need to develop urban warfare techniques to be used against people all over the world including use against American citizens.

I believe the killing techniques used in arresting citizens today were reversed engineered from statistical studies of the most common moralities like falling, choking, and electrocution. Police will throw a handcuffed prisoner head first into the ground to simulate a fall, or strangling to induce a heart attack, and electrocution by stun gun until the arrestee is dead which is more likely if they are fearful and have cardiac and respiratory difficulties, or has taken drugs which the police will exploit during the arrest procedure. May making these killing techniques a part of police training immunity is granted by the courts or the deaths are ruled "accidental," by pre-existing conditions.

A lot of serious research has gone into adopting these arrest procedures and where not casually adopted.

Police self police themselves and that is why they have become a right-wing extremist force that is tolerating fascist right-wing militias walking the streets armed with military rifles to shoot and intimidate civilians. "antifa" is a media pseudonym for all American dissent, and is being used to openly threaten the American people.

The Democratic party leaders are silent.

You're right, the FBI website does have stats. And when you actually disect them, they show that blacks who make up about 13-14% of the population, commit about 50% of all violent crime. And yet more whites are killed by police than blacks. Thanks for defeating your own argument. Saved me the trouble.

Don't worry, I have good feels, but thanks for your concern!

I think every single LEO should be evaluated yearly given the known facts that there is a high number of LEOs with drug and alcohol issues. To me this is a response to undiagnosed PTSD in individuals who work in high crime areas. I can't speak for Officer Chauvin's actions but when it comes to bad cops I think it's a chicken or egg scenario. If that kind of behavior shows up early on in an individual's career they should be terminated but if it develops over time I think it can be treated and resolved so that we wouldn't have to lose an otherwise seasoned LEO. Let's face it , even on a good day it's a dangerous job and it's got to have some long term effects.

Baseless? The FBI takes track on all of that. Them statistics clearly show that racism is institutionalized. And that can't be done with a few bad apples. The lot must be in on it.

Racism is institutionalized. The stats show that white people and black people do and deal about an equal amount of drugs / white people do actually a bit more. Black people are confronted over this by cops far more often. And than the racism causes black people to be arrested far more often over this... to than also be convicted far more over this. The judges when taking the background into consideration, are giving black people harsher sentencing.

And all you got, but more black people are behind bars due to violent crime. That would be the same as pointing out that more black people are behind bars more due to drugs. As I just showed it means nothing in who is more criminal. The predominantly white police force need to end this absurd racism for a change first in order for you to be able to prove your point.

You mean. The FBI can tell you how many people got convicted. When you look at how does and sell drugs, and gets arrested over it... it shows that white people do the most drugs by a bit, while black people predominantly get arrested and convicted over it. No doubt the same is about violent crimes. As for your more whites are killed by the police, it's still less than compared to the % of the population. That proves as well that racism is institutionalized within the predominantly white police force.

    **** THE POLICE!

And thanks for reminding me....it is often said, "San Francisco is a liberal left-wing city."

Well, let me tell you a true story while I still can….

Imagine: You and your friend walk out of a San Francisco restaurant with food and three fellows walk up and say, “Give me your food.” You both refuse. The three fellows beat the crap out of your friend.

Plain clothes police officers in an unmarked car arrive and hold the three robbers (use of force to permanently deprive the victim of property) and then let them go free.

Later, you find out the three thugs that robbed you were off duty SFPD police officers. One robbery suspect officer Alex Fagan, Jr., was the son of San Francisco Police Department Assistant Chief Alex Fagan Sr.. Father and son have the same name!

Of course, Alex Fagan Sr. and his buddies in the SFPD try to get Alex junior out of trouble, but the SF D.A discovers that the elder Fagan, Chief Prentice E. Sanders, and nine other officers were involved in a cover up of the initial criminal acts of the three off-duty officers and were arrested for obstruction of justice.

Then the switcharoo—Sanders resigns as Chief of Police, and Fagan Sr. became the new SFPD Chief during the investigation!

Eventually, the SFPD Fagan Sr. gang were able to beat back the DA and sue the two victims Fagan junior and his friends attempted to rob and assault.

The robbery victims had to pay court costs to Fagan junior, and one other SFPD officer involved.

And with only one year as SFPD Chief of Police, Fagan Sr. resigned from the force and is now collecting retirement pay amounting to about $200,000 per year.

Chief of Police Fagan Sr. had been in physical fight with California Highway Patrol. Also, Fagan Sr. once left the scene of a DUI hit and run accident.

The last San Francisco citizens heard of the Fagan thugs was from Arizona:

Ex-S.F. police chief, son in dustup in Arizona hotel / Alex Fagan Jr. arrested, dad handcuffed after scuffle and threats to staff, cops

First you cite the FBI site as the basis for your argument, and so I use their data to debunk your claims, now all of a sudden he FBI data is not valid. Hmm. Feels a bit like trying to nail jello to a wall.

Sorry, but 13% of the population commits on average 50% of violent crime. And somehow this is cops being racist? Now we can debate the reasons for this absolutely staggering disproportionate representation of violent crime, but it sure as hell isn't due to police racism. I cannot substantiate this, but there are likely a couple hundred thousand black police officers all over the country. So, are all these arrests, and police shootings of blacks, only being done by white officers? I don't think so, in fact in Atlanta, the two officers who were fired for using tasers on the black folks in the car, happened to be black. Racist against their own race? Or maybe, jut happen to be dealing with a situation, regardless of skin color of the perp....

Comparing the killed by police rate to the population percentage is grade school math at best, or disingenuous ignorance of statistics to push a false narrative. Police killings need to be compared to crime rates, as this is what dictates how many interactions there are, period. The fact that for the last few years, more whites have been killed by police, especially when they make up a slightly smaller percentage of overall crime rates, totally debunks the cops killing blacks hogwash. Unless of course, you choose to ignore the crime data stats, which as I mentioned is disingenuous.

This data from the FBI show that white people do more drugs while selling drugs is ever so slightly lower.
This data from the FBI shows also that black people get arrested far more frequently over this.
This data from the FBI shows that convictions of black people is even more frequently.

This shows how racism is institutionalized in the US... because the predominantly white police and justice department are predominantly focused on crime done by black people.

You mean... 13% of the population get's 50% convicted of violent crime and you got no clue if the other 87% does 87% of the violent crime. You just assume the justice department isn't racist... while I proved that it is.

Your claim the predominately white police force isn't prone to racism... is based on nothing.
While I proved that it has a massive problem. You don't get them stats with "a few bad apples".

You're taking the black community who got convicted over population percentage to prove your point because it fits your agenda. You're taking refuse to do the same when it's about black people being shot,... because it doesn't fit your agenda.

And I'm calling you out on that.

So, this one chart, proves systemic racism? I'm sorry, but that's absolutely crazy.
Let's examine it more closely. First and foremost, how do they get the data on drug use? Are they taking surveys?
Second - drug related arrests are curiously listed again, against population percentage. lets go with 100,000 people. 13% black, and about 65% white (allowing for other races, we will remove them for this exercise).
    1.09% of 13K = 142 arrested
    .4% of 65K = 260 arrested hmmm - more whites, again.....

What type of drug use are we talking about? This needs to be explained also. Occasional joint in the house? Some pain meds being abused? The type of drugs will play a big role in whether or not someone would be caught with them on their person.

Rather than rely on some bogus charts prepared by someone with their own agenda, I'd prefer to use the actual numbers. Simple percentage charts mean zero, especially when the source is highly suspect. I glanced at it for a few seconds and already shot holes through it. Sure I could do more given more time, which I don't feel like doing.

I must admit, that this statement was great for a laugh: "You mean... 13% of the population get's 50% convicted of violent crime and you got no clue if the other 87% does 87% of the violent crime. You just assume the justice department isn't racist... while I proved that it is."
Yes, you're right, 13% gets convicted of 50% of the violent crimes committed. The other 87% of the population commits and gets convicted of the other 50%. I kinda thought that would be obvious..... It's math. Sorry to confuse you with facts. I'll stick to using taglines instead.

So go ahead and "call me out" for pushing my agenda, that cops are out enforcing the laws, and don't care about skin color. My claim about police not being inherently racist is actually based on actual statistics, not some phony baloney chart I found on the internet that suits my agenda.

You are free to debunk that data.

It is absolutely right to view it in against population percentage. I put in red that black people are targeted by the predominantly white police force 3 times as often. That black people are a minority and so less people are overall arrested doesn't put a dent in it.

You calling the data from the FBI "bogus" and "highly suspect" is a joke. You need to debunk this with a source. I do not care you do not understand percentages.

This is quit a laugh. I made a solid argument where I proved that the % of white people who get arrested is 3 times lower than black people when they do the same amount of drug related crime. I don't see why this would not apply for violent crimes. And here you seem to claim that a 100% of violent crime leads to 100% of arrested in order to think the amount of arrested black people means something about who does more violent crime.

    Again in short:
who does crime has NO relation to who gets arrested.

All you posted was one chart. It was not composed by the FBI, but composed by someone claiming to use FBI statistics. No link to the website, just a picture. I don't call FBI data suspect, in fact I look at the actual FBI data, you k now, on the FBI site.... Sorry they don't make pretty charts, you actually have to look at numbers and run your own calculations, but I'm a engineer so that's the way I roll.

So, you're going to make a sweeping allegation of over a half million people, because you looked at a chart, and did not actually look at the data. You know there is a term for making broad sweeping allegations of groups of folks. It's called Bigotry.

"This is quit a laugh. "

Solid argument? More like solid excrement. But I digress. Black folks are arrested in percent to the amount of crime they commit. Sorry that you can't handle the truth that they commit disproportionately more crime than their population percentage. This is a whole different topic that can be expounded upon, but for another thread. Of course, police can't solve all violent crimes. So because a percentage of violent crimes are not solved, then we should ignore the stats given by the solved ones? I'll use that same logic right back at you. Are police arresting all drug users? No? Well then, how can you claim that whites are using more at a higher rate than blacks, since we are not arresting all of the users? Do you see the fallacy of your grade school logic now?

And this sentence tells me all I need to know: " who does crime has NO relation to who gets arrested" Absolute drivel. You just can't handle the fact that 13% of the population commits about 50% of all violent crime. Sorry, but facts are facts, and that you can verify easily enough. In fact I posted a link to this earlier already where you can get numbers. Not pie charts by someone with an agenda to push.
