Twitter is a non-government entity and can censor its users. However, the federal government cannot legally collude with private entities to help censor individuals that it otherwise cannot censor itself. There seems to be plenty of evidence that government officials were using Twitter to enforce censorship on private citizens engaging in lawful speech. Whether this is criminal and/or civil violation is yet to be determined. The censorship looks like a civil violation to me.

However, government officials were having private communication with Twitter to censor opposing viewpoints which they claimed they were not doing under oath. That is criminal and would make those emails and private messages evidence of criminal activity.

 

Blimey, it's like hounding people out of restaurants too. Both sides are as bad as each other.

I actually don't agree here. I think they just believe that because it is something they want, the law should just allow the abuse to happen, and the kids abused by it shouldn't have any protection from it. If you dig a little deeper on this Yoel Roth dude, I think it will become clear.
