    Are rights to legal equality up for vote according to the US constitution?

    Can, for instance, states decide to abolish religious freedom with a simple vote?

    You're right, that discussion has no place in schools. Because it's already settled. It's simply "Marriage". Doesn't matter if it's between two people of opposite sexes, or of the same sex.

    Besides, if you consider it brainwashing to teach kids not to treat gay people like ****, maybe, just maybe, you're the problem here.

    Your version of the social and cultural tradition may be, but yours is not the only one out there.

    Nor does it need your support. It is the law of the land.

    I'd like to suggest it's not just the "Left" who support gender neutrality with regard to lawful matrimony.

    Why should you get to vote on what your fellow citizens can do if the act in question has no effect on you? In fact, tell me why government should be involved in marriage at all, please.

    The task of the judiciary is to insure the citizens' constitutional rights are protected. All the citizens - not just the ones you like.

    I will tell that a bunch of American fanatic ultra conservatives can't help themselves to emphasize that the teacher is black, while it has nothing to do with it. It's like them white racists still live in the Jim Crow era.

    That and they lost a court case and their feelings are butthurt that a children book has been read.

    The the education system is an obsolete boondoggle. All of the revenue flowing into the corrupt mess should be diverted directly to the control of parents and guardians of school age children.

    This is no different than a black teacher reading a book that is about blacks. These people exist in our society and society has now said that they are accepted and a part of us. The fact of you being a throwback notwithstanding. All the arguments you throw up now are the same ones thrown up against interracial marriage, and they are as bogus now as they were then.

    To go back implies that they were heterosexual to begin with. As to the woman, either she was bi the entire time, or the guy was enough of a "soul mate" that for him and him alone, physical gender didn't matter. I've seen it happen. Or it could be that, as some are theorizing, that some people's sexuality can shift and change. This isn't a conscious thing and probably isn't something that responds to specific stimuli. Time would be more the key factor, or so it would seem. There are many possibilities as to why it would seem to play out as you observed.
