    there are ethics rules in the profession - an administrative hearing will be conducted to determine whether his conduct merits disciplinary action

    When blm actual threatens to kill cops and white people, they aren't joking. Do you deny this?

    The PD now has to decide if they want him representing them. Obviously he thought he was making a funny but it wasn't really funny and was a pretty dumb thing for him to say. I always support an employer being allowed to employ at will and terminate anyone they feel is a bad reflection on them. If that's the ultimate decision here, I'll support it, and if they decide to just put him on leave for a time and still employ him in the end, I'll support that, too.

    People need to be a little more careful about making inappropriate jokes.

    What rules? Seriously.

    What if it was a Hillary Clinton supporter who was mumbling that Trump and the police were going to "see us swinging from nooses" and the cop says "II didn't vote for the Orange DILDO so no swinging from nooses today!" Would that be a firing offence?

    Yes, he was conversing with a person that in context would probably identify with the officer and change attitude.

    Ya ever try to talk down an drunk? Ya' got to get on thier restricted intellectual and emotional level sometimes. That might mean using the 'n' word or 'cracker' or 'orange baffoon', 'peter puffer' what ever.

    If right wingers don't object to the cop's supposed "joke" then they should have no problem with Kathy Griffin's photo op with Trump's head. After all, it was only a joke.

    that is no excuse, there is a reason to hold law enforcement to a higher standard. to boot, racial language isnt necessary to talk down a drunk.

    yes i have been around a few drunks. maybe he could have shot him for resisting arrest.

    While they sit in vehicles? I remember from last August 2016, 4 separate police attacks in one day resulting in three deaths, two of the attacks on officers in their separate cars. There were many predictions in this forum that blacks did it. Turned out that two of the attackers were white, one was half and one was black.
