    I think Kathy Griffin should be free to say what she wants and shouldnt have been destroyed. I also think this cop did nothing wrong, just trying to calm the lady down.

    So? What does that have to do with my opinion that the PD will decide what they want to do and I'd support their decision either way?

    I wouldn't either, the drivers was insulting first by eluding that the officer was untrustworthy. I'd have called backup and had her charged with resisting AFTER I spent an hour doing various sobriety test and then booked her ignorant ass :)

    Ya you don't want me as a cop because that would have been a personal insult to my perfect record, I take a hit to my record, they're gonna take a hit to theirs too!

    At will means at their discretion. Having a contract doesn't remove their discretion. You can have a contract and that doesn't guarantee you keep your job if your employer deems you a detriment to them or incapable of doing your job. Even with a contract you can be terminated for good cause. You may want to look up the US Labor Laws.
