Our federal bank announced last year that it will bring the german gold home. Germany owns 3400 tons of gold. Its the second largest gold reserve worldwide. Much of it was stored in USA, France and Britain. It is planned that we will bring home all our gold from London and Paris and most of the stock in New York.

That is a hot topic. Our Bundesrechnungshof (thats a gremium that controls the Bundesbank) made a report where it doubted the securityof our gold reserves aand critisized the lack of control mechanisms. The Bundesbank then denied to bring the gold home and said it would be too expensive to store it. People didn´t take that and pressure rized till the Bundesbank changed its mind and started to build a facility to store our gold in. Because of security reasons it wwill be brought to germany in various charges. The first arrived now and was 34 tons of gold worth 1.1 billion €. Next years follows a 2nd charge with 700 tons worth 22,6 billion €.

Thats a touchy thing because of many aspects. It is dangerous to transport such gigantic masses of gold. The security level is gigantic. On the other side it is a hot subject in diplomacy, because USA, UK and France see it as lack in trust.

The gold was once shipped to USA, UK and France out of fear that it could fall in russias hands in case of war. The cold war is long over and that reason is laughable today.

I´m personal glad it is coming home.

Considering that you lost afghanistan, vietnam and iraq, the rapid downfall of international renomee and power...the only thing you will invade is your grandmothers pants. Forgive me but i can't stand idiocy today.

time to get your behind out of Germany if you cant stand idiocy. My great great grandparents got out of germany and my father helped keep our bombers in the skies bombing the crap out of Germany. sounds like a nice old fashioned carpet bombing is in order. You are plain lying about loosing the countries you mention. The carpet bombing was very real.

Lol, sorry my intellectual abilities are to high to respond to such nonsense. So here is something for you to play with:

    lolly.jpg

And for a little realitycheck. You know why your great great grandparents left germany?

It was a law from chancellor Bismarck and part of the so called "Sozialisten Gesetze" (social laws). To push potential of leftist uprising down he introduced social reforms for the working class, banend the leftist party...and removed the lowest scum of society from germany. They got the tickets paid from government and the NDL als well as HAPAG Line transported them to america. Guess that part of family history is hidden from you guys?

Now come back when your country has a functional economy. I don´t like to talk with nations that don´t even have a tripple AAA rating anymore. Or how your biggest newspapers write:

"Germany's Rising Economic and Political Power

    article by Melvin Rhodes

Germany, not the United States, is the world's biggest single exporting nation. The German-dominated European Union is the world's biggest single market. Additionally, the German-based euro is increasingly the international currency of choice. "

Your open shown idiocy proves me right. Your ancestors were low class scum. I hope they enjoyed the steering passage on the HAPAG Steamer.

If you want sail HAPAG again, feel free to book, unfortunately tehy don´t offer steerage anymore. Their ships are considered the most luxurious worldwide

But i fear the ticket price about 8500 $ for one week and person might be a bit much for the typical redneck like yourself. Unfortunately we won´t buy you the ticket this time. :/

The US exports about 100 billion more than your little tiny country does which by the way is about the size of New Mexico. My ancestors probably were scum in the german context but they did enjoy having your parents polish their boots while my father occupied your little country. Your pic of a little boat is cute. do you have any real boats? we have 10 currently active...we call them aircraft carriers but you are too poor to have a navy and the brits keep sinking your navy when you have even a little one.

MarkusS did not start the fight, but he had no problem finishing it. Now back on topic concerning the gold transfer. I for one would like to open up the vaults where our government keeps it's gold, Fort Knox, because I believe they are lying about just how much is really stored there. I don't blame Germany for not trusting the US with it's gold.

This might come as a shock to you, but Germans were coming here even before we became a nation. These Germans continued marrying people from Germany for two hundred years. My brother in law and my childhood friend as well, both had one parent who was a fifth generation German American, and one parent who was born in Germany.

The Germans who came here generations ago continued speaking German and conducting business in German until WWI. At one time Congress even considered making German our national language, but it lost out by one vote.

As for Bismark, he was the destruction of Germany and by extension Europe with WWI and WWII. Lot's of good he did you people, ask those under the rubble of the German cities. He even insisted he was demonically possessed but no one listened to him. Considering the consequences of Germany's unification and Prussia's imposition on it with its military culture, he was probably right. :oldman:

I´m pretty sure the room deodorant clouds her mind. So i don´t know if she is speaking or Febreeze..

Back to topic. I agree with you, evry country should store its gold inside its own boarders. As far as i know our gold was mostly accumulated in the 60th and 70th. It was created from a gigantic export surplus. It wasn´t practical to ship it back home to germany, so it was stored there. They build a secur place in Frankfurt now to take it.

My ancestors and many others ran from the German plague long before bismark. My family spoke german at home for several generations as a point of pride but hitler/germany turned that to embarrassment.

We are 80 million. You are 30 million. Broken down to population we are the export leader worldwide. Stupid you. We see you as the sore loser in global trade.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news...-as-sore-loser-in-trade-competition/?page=all

"It just recorded the highest trade surplus in its history, but Germany may find it difficult to celebrate the milestone as Berlin faces growing criticism that the country’s prosperity is coming at the expense of its European neighbors and the health of the global economy.
Fresh off a public scolding from the Obama administration that its trade surpluses were slowing the recovery from the Great Recession and the EU’s currency crisis, Germany's Federal Statistical Office reported Friday that exports increased in September from the previous month to a new record high. Exports were up 1.7 percent to $124 billion on an adjusted basis, while imports fell 1.9 percent to $99 billion.
That leaves Germany with more than a $25 billion surplus, up from $21 billion in August — a surplus that is larger than even that of China‘s.

Many in Germany increasingly see the U.S. as a sore loser in the global trade game, noting that President Obama has set a goal to double American exports by 2015. So why shouldn’t they do the same thing?
In January 2010, during his second State of the Union address, President Obama announced his was creating the National Export Initiative to “double our exports over the next five years, an increase that will support 2 million jobs in America.”
However, the U.S. seems to be going in the wrong direction as of late. The trade deficit increased in August to $38.8 billion, as exports fell by $100 million.

You guys economy is pathetic weak. Germany is the export worldmaster. And you? You don´t even have a top rating anymore. Ours is so good, people pay us to take their money:

    http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052970204124204577150311730396748

"Investors agreed to pay the German government for the privilege of lending it money.

In an auction Monday, Germany sold €3.9 billion ($4.96 billion) of six-month bills that had an average yield of negative 0.0122%, the first time on record that yields at a German debt auction moved into negative territory.

This means that unlike most other short-term sovereign debt, in which investors expect to be repaid more than they lend, investors agreed to be paid slightly less. And they are willing to do that because they are so worried about the potential for big losses elsewhere."

Sorry Mr, you got hit and destroyed.

I know facts aren't your strong suite but Germany has a 3 trillion dollar economy and the US has a 16 trillion dollar economy. The US exports about 1.5 trillion and der krautland exports about 1.4 trillion. Go and play little guy you have a cute little country there. Love the beer halls.

I'm surprised it took this long for Germany to repatriate it's gold. Instead of bringing it home little at a time starting years ago, there is this mad rush to get it back ASAP. I wonder why that is? Does this have anything to do with the world turning away from the US dollar as the world reserve?

You do realize that you just (*)(*)(*)(*)ed yourself up...so you 300 million people export goods worth 15. trillion...and we 80 million export 1.4 trillion. That explains why we have the stronger economy and a gigantic surplus...while you have gigantic...well debt.

So when you quote figures for US exports, is that just Washington DC you're talking about? Think of the EU as the United States of Europe.

The $ is at an end. When you see the bad economy of the USA and its enormous debt, it was just a matter of time till our government secures our gold. Others do the same. China for example.

That scene describes it very good:

have someone explain to you how numbers work, your post is full of errors but the real fact is that 3 trillion isn't as much as 16 trillion

Much of our debt is due to military expenditures used to protect our allies so they won't have to spend money on defense. Not that I am entirely ok with being the policemen of the world. I believe it is time to give up control of defending the world and force our allies to protect themselves. We'll always be there for backup, but we need to stop spending money we don't have.

You have a deficit. Thats what you don´t get. We have a surplus. What you don´t get is that our economy is Porsche. And yours is...GM.
GM is far bigger than Porsche...yet GM is (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up, near bancrupt and resided in a city that looks like Hiroshima in 1946... While Porshe resided in a luxury resort and travels its employee around the globe in lear jets.

Is it now easy enough for you to get it?

Your own government admits that we (*)(*)(*)(*) you up economicly. Each € we have as surplus is your loss.

You are a Zeppelin, we are a Space Shuttle...

    got it now?
