Because y'all put that would be rapist's death right on your list of "gun homicides" and use it to argue that guns are evil. You didn't know that?
Go ahead... call anyone you disagree with a "moron". Your key to happiness and endless friendships... awaits.
Not me. The person I was responding to said that Blacks were the reason our crime rates were so high. As such, I was responding to his post. I do not agree with what he said but if he is right, then my response was the solution.
Whenever we get into a discussion that is ridiculous and depends on something else, it is a worthless conversation.
Not in the slightest You believe the number of guns in the US is related to the level of gun violence in the US. So... compare the quantities: -How many guns were used to murder someone today? -How many were not?
Is that what I said? Or are you characterizing what I said because you know you have no effective response. How much would the US murder rate drop if blacks committed murder at the same rate as whites? (Note: This number can be calculated) Given this, why do you believe the availability of firearms - inanimate objects - is the reason for our high murder rate?
They do account for 54% of all murders, and buying them off isn’t solving the problem. Paying people not to commit crime is not something anyone would consider viable.
That is a completely different topic (solutions versus desire to find solutions). There are no clear and decisive things that can be done to stop the problem but addressing it is the first necessary stop. I still remember when I was 18 and I did not like myself and wanted to become a better person. An older man that I asked what I could do, told me to study other people and the good things they did that I like and to copy them. At first, it would be simply a copy and not who I was but if I did it enough times it would become part of me. As such, we need to start doing something that may not work or be believed at first but if done for enough time, it will become a solution. I just know that doing nothing is not any kind of a solution or even the beginning of a solution. We need to take the first step and realize that this problem cannot continue and that we need to start coming up with changes that at first may not work but if done over enough time, they may end up working.
That is pure BS. The hate that is going around has nothing to do with arming or disarming people. It is racism, injustice, unsupported anger, misinformation, and general desire to copy what others do that gets them notices. We need to address those issues and start changing them. In the meantime, disarming people is a solution because it takes away the "easy" ability to kill others. If people do not have guns, getting rid of their frustrations and anger must be done at a higher risk to themselves than the easy solution to grab a gun and shoot. Many people, especially those that kill, are meek and cowards and if they do not have a gun, they will not have the means to kill without risk and pain to themselves. Those people will sneak back into the shadows.
You mean asking a question is a personal attack? I have to believe that everyone automatically has common sense?
I do know that doing nothing never accomplishes anything. Letting bad things happen actually causes more bad things to happen as people get to believe there are no consequences to their actions. Do you dispute that?
Bottom line is that Black people have more valid reasons for anger and hate than White people. Take those valid reasons away, and things automatically even up.
Bottom line is that Black have more VALID reasons for anger and hate than White people do. Take those reasons away and it will all even out.
Bottom line: The fact <4%% of the population commits >61% of the murders indicates the high murder rates in the US is not related to the number of firearms in the US.
What I said in the OP and over and over again is that this is a problem that needs to be addressed. It cannot continue as it is. I have not given any clear solutions at all. As such, I DID demonstrate that doing "something" is NECESSARY.
Did you avoid the point? Yes, yes you did. How much would the US murder rate drop if blacks committed murder at the same rate as whites? Given this, why do you believe the availability of firearms - inanimate objects - is the reason for our high murder rate?
Wow, you just made the point of the OP. If what you said is true, then try to uncover that 4% of the people and take THEIR GUNS AWAY. That would be a perfect solution, no?
