I see the math here. Less bad guys with guns and more good guys with guns. now the good guys stand a better chance when less bad guys with guns are around. Everyone wins.
are you denying the facts I posted. the number of guns in the USA almost went up 25% but gun crime surely did not. I spent 30 years as a prosecuting attorney in the USA-what have you ever done that gives you any professional expertise in this area. You don't even live in the USA. You don't interact with police officers, FBI agents, USMS DEA or county sheriffs as I did for three decades. SO just stop pretending your propaganda means anything to me. You start with the premise that guns are bad and find anti gun organizations to give your claims credibility https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/USA/united-states/crime-rate-statistics
Ooooooh! I am excited! I actually got a citation! Pity it is meaningless numbr of guns is not the same as number of gun owners - unless of course you think the guns are responsible for the crime? https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/hicrc/firearms-research/policy/ Oh! And claims on the internet mean nothing - I judge solely on how posts are responded to.
What is the criteria to become a “concealed carry” gun owner? In most places it is a background check - these people obviously passed ergo were not “criminals” before they killed someone
well tell us how you decrease the number of owners without decreasing the number of guns and vice versa? we keep hearing from the gun banners the following 1) how many more guns there are than people-as if that is a bad thing 2) that allowing honest citizens to carry guns would cause "blood to flow in the streets" So what is your point. that you want to cut down on the number of legal gun owners who have no disqualifying features when they try to buy a gun
you know Hemenway is pretty much seen as a paid whore of the anti gun movement and doesn't have much integrity. He always starts with his goal-showing gun ownership is bad-and works backward. Do you know what his actual academic background is?
just more evidence that gun banners really aren't trying to decrease violent crime-just legal gun ownership.
Yes I do and he is not the only one showing this correlation - just the one I have on my “favourites” list. Feel free to counter with equivalent research showing the opposite effect https://ajph.aphapublications.org/doi/full/10.2105/AJPH.2013.301409 https://edition.cnn.com/2022/01/20/us/everytown-weak-gun-laws-high-gun-deaths-study/index.html https://www.rand.org/research/gun-policy/analysis/essays/firearm-prevalence-violent-crime.html
How many of the 38 mass shootings that Lucky1 claims happened were committed by individuals who were already criminals?
what group do you think is more credible-the NRA or the anti gun foundations that pay people like Hemenway?
Lols! Do you HONESTLY think the NRA is credible? After all the scandals? Lols! https://www.npr.org/2021/11/02/1051...k-at-nepotism-fraud-and-corruption-in-the-nra And especially since it was caught out trying to buy politicians in Australia
