you know the love of any god, by the words written by man and that may offer you the comprehension of many disappointments; they had not finished describing 'god'

you will as long as you are willing to lie to yourself

I have had supernatural experiences that I rely on. You do you and I'll do me.

jimi hendrix asked 'are you experienced?'

drunks have claimed to see pink elephants

but the integrity of the mind is what witness as important to life, not the BS of religious wingnuts

You could have experienced anything but when you mislead, you become a liar and that is 'false witness'. Which is against, Every god!

How am I misleading? Believe what you will. Go rape women and children, rob liquor stores and torture animals and if you're smart enough to get away with it in this life keep telling yourself that you escaped punishment.

when i experience a lie from a liar, i am being punished!

Not sure what i did to deserve such monsters, but they exist all over the earth and i am here to witness you as one of them!

Have you ever read up on some dude to bring the 'sword of truth'?

    guess who?

That's your interpretation but it's obviously false.

You are deciding what you are taking from the bible and what you are ignoring the same time. You are the only authority of your own words - not the bible - even in case you are using the bible for your arguments. Someone is a able to build a house without knowledge about statics - another one knows about the structural engineering calculations he needs to build a house - but he is minimizing the efforts to much so the house maybe crashes sometimes down. Sure: the more someone knows the better it is - but it is not really an argument to say something is written in the bible. Never forget: the bible itselve is not god. It's the word of human beings inspired from god - sometimes inspired - not always inspired. And sometimes it is even bull(*)(*)(*)(*) what is written in the bible - and sometimes it are unbelievable worthful jewels. Sometimes the bull(*)(*)(*)(*) are jewels too - but it needs often a long time to find this out. To use an argument in the form "No, the Bible does." - what seemes to be very modern in the USA - sounds in my ears like to close always a door and not like to open it.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Phillipians 2:4)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

I am just going to stop there, because anyone silly enough to say that selflessness is a misinterpretation of the Bible and life of teachings of Jesus is way out on a limb.

Please, go ahead and explain that one.

Ultimately, the purpose of religion is not to make you a better person. The purpose of religion is to save your soul.

yes, take the parents moment of crisis and grief, then turn it into something about you. You needed that self pat on the back more than he needed compassion

My response, as you in that situation, would have probably been 'I don't practice religion. I practice medicine.'

    i disagree

If you are not a better person, you could not know what to do for your 'soul'

If the soul is what you leave upon existence, then knowing what you do, is what enables your afterlife, then to know you are what you do, is how to know you are in heaven NOW; capable of an ever lasting life, by choice, is how to know your soul is saved.

My point; the better man is capable of knowing what they do is either good or bad, for life.

If I were that father, that would insulting comment would have beenthe last time you set foot in my kid's room.

What a rude comment. Not very professional at all. In fact, I would have had the head huncho explaining to me why his employees are insulting their patients and families.

How incorrect and judgemental you are. He not only agreed with me, I was his sons primary care giver from begining to end.

Great comment. Something the father understood and respected.

I guess you were not paying attention. He said that he does not need God for him to do the "right" thing. As a result, there is no need to be polite or kind.

So there has never been a time in your life where you were not a "good" person?

And you've come to this conclusion how?

And the point of this is what? Even if you "have faith" does it make you any better of a person to one that does not?

My point here is that even though you know deep down what is the moral thing to do, at times you inevitably ignore such inklings. Why?

In addition, what price should be paid for wronging another?

I would say that's none of the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s business.

We all have sinned and done things against our fellow man that we knew deep down was not right.

Of course, you may be the exception. If so, please correct me if I'm wrong.

The word "Sinning" to me is a religious term.

    Either way it's all subjective.
