    https://www.reuters.com/business/en...heat-waves-affecting-united-states-2022-07-24

This article addresses US inhabitants but we in Europe have exactly the same problem.

My opinion: it's the mo'fu**ing man-made climate change! Heatwaves also affect europe these days. I don't think we can stop it. Life on earth quickly comes to an end. And this statement is by no means religiously motivated.

Now it's your turn, man-made climate change deniers. :)

Man it sure is really hot here in Southwest Florida..... Towards the end of JULY..... The peak of Summer.

Imagine that.... It's hot here in Florida in the summer like it has been my entire lifetime.

How long of a line of failed predictions of Doom and gloom going back decades will it take to convince you it's bunk?

The end is near. The end is near, repent lest thou shall perish! The end is near! :hiding:

Just something else to keep you in a perpetual state of anxiety and fear..... You know something else to worry about in your spare time when you can't sleep and you're staring up at the ceiling.

    My opinion: Probably not.

How do you think a small increase in temperature ends up causing a very large increase in temperature that only lasts 2 or 3 days, with temperatures then returning back to normal?

This question was posed to you in another thread, but you did not answer.

Climate change: About a 0.5 degree increase
The heat wave: 20 or 30 degrees above normal, expected to only last 2 or 3 days

Yeah, but this month continually getting hotter over a span of e.g. 10 years. And the winters are also not as cold as you know them from your childhood.

Climate change is real, man-made or not!

But temporary heat waves are not necessarily a manifestation of it.

I must have overlooked your question. I'm sorry. :(

Climate is the accumulated weather over n years. Returning back to normal at some point doesn't matter, because we have to integrate temperatures over a larger span (all points) to get the actual climate.

    huh?

I'm not entirely sure how that answers my question.

The issue is that you claimed that this heat wave was somehow indicative of climate change.

It got to 27 degrees here last winter. Last time it did that was 2017. Try again....

You compare selective changes. This is the biggest mistake of almost all climate deniers. :(

We have a chance IF we can pull out all stops on carbon emissions and start planting trees like there is no tomorrow

How? Give us some proposed logical rationale for that, or at least a theory.

0.5 degree increase does not cause a 20 or 30 degree increase that only lasts 2 days.

You misunderstand. Look at the question.

How is there a connection here?

At least the tree huggers are consistent:

1970 - Miami will be under water in ten years.
1980 - Miami will be under water in ten years.
1990 - Miami will be under water in ten years.
2000 - Miami will be under water in ten years.
2010 - Miami will be under water in ten years.
2020 - Miami will be under water in ten years.

It's the same people saying ''stolen election''.
    Evidence is meaningless to them.

And logic is meaningless to others.

Maybe you'd care to take a stab at explaining how this constitutes evidence of climate change?

I'm not a climate denier because I don't subscribe to your particular brand of hysterical authoritarianism based on a lie

I had a boat I kept in a marina in CA. There were concrete pillars at the entrance to the marina that had the high tide and low tide levels marked on them. They were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's. The markings are as accurate now as they were then. GOREBULL WARMING PHOOEY!!!

In Roman times grapes were grown in southern England. In 1963 the Thames (salt water) froze over. During the 80’s we were warned of a coming ice age … It’s why ‘global warming’ changed to ‘climate change.’ Hot or cold, everyone’s a winner.

I’m not a denier, I’m a skeptic whenever I hear the latest doomsday warnings. We’ve just had a mini-heatwave lasting all of two days and already it’s working up to a frenzy. I get a feeling we will get to live out our lives without boiling to death, or freezing, whichever latest 'end of the world' scenario people have bought into. :)
