It’s very simple really. Weather that someone doesn’t like is caused by climate change. Like a too-hot day. Weather they do like, such as a nice 75°F day is just weather.

Perfect growing season with record crop yields? Weather. A 2% yield reduction because of regional drought? Climate change.

Increased precipitation regionally based on the fact precipitation is increasing over the majority of the globe? Weather. Decreased precipitation regionally as a result of deforestation? Climate change.

If someone doesn’t like it. Climate change. If it’s benign enough not to notice or has a positive influence on your life. Weather.

What I find interesting about all this is the people most spun up about it all probably spend less than an hour a day out in the weather. And only then if it happens to be to their liking. Most have no personal reason to care if the wind is out of the southwest or southeast. No reason to care what the overnight temperature is. No reason to care what transpiration/respiration rates will be based on the above and other factors. What is important to them is what they are told is “important” and that’s it.

Here in Wisconsin it's been Summer as usual... highs sometimes getting into the low 90s but mostly sticking in the 80s. This week highs are sticking right around the upper 70s (maybe barely cracking 80 at times). There's no "heat wave" here.
