He had to do something. He allowed many infected people to pour into nyc from Europe for two months without a federal program to quarantine them.

A conservative think tank run by a guy with an MBA degree and humping for the right is not science.

I will make the same case to you, since you talk that way, that I make to all nut cases who spread fear.

You totally are on board that it is all your fault.
YES, your fault the earth is warming.

My offer is for you to STOP

TODAY. Do not wait. You are persuaded. If enough of the nuts believe a thing, and do another thing, the problem will vanish.

    GET BUSY

NY refused to put the ship to full use. NY laughed at the hospitals Trump built. So how is this Trump's fault?

It's true that we can't base our reactions on a best case scenario but why do we base our reaction on the worst case? Our entire way of life in this country has been altered and some of it to the point it will never be the same. What we debate today is whether we got the price right or maybe are paying too much.

There is NO doubt that COVID19 has taken a toll on us, physically, mentally and financially. These are issues that simply cannot be disputed. It seems like doctors are learning more about the virus and treatments are working. In the meantime, people are still dying and others are still out of work and others are being evicted as I type this sentence.

The question remains...how do we face it, recover (heal) and move on? Regardless of one's position, we have to figure out how to work together.

States handle such entries. And how did Trump allow? How many do you mean?

There are roughly 47 million people in Spain. Yesterday they had 1,623 deaths. This is no joke. . People have been talking about this possibly being a new strain originating in Spain which has spread throughout Europe due to people going on holiday to Spain in the summer.

I don't want to go to Spain, just a football game, bar for a beer and a barber for a haircut.

The closest I got to Spain was when I lived in Germany and had breakfast one morning with a woman from Spain. I have met several spaniards in CA when they come to climb at Yosemite but frankly they were not all that talkative. So there are far too many countries for me to keep tabs on along with the issue of public health there to worry my heart about.

I laid out a trip to Spain from Schweinfurt Germany that did not pan out as planned. I have long wanted to be in Spain to check it out.

I was not talking about you. I was pointing out that in a country with around 47 million today they have today recorded 1,623 deaths and that the UK was warned that if it did not take prompt action it may end up with 4,000 deaths a day. This is no joke.

I also pointed out that there is talk of Spain having a new strain which has spread around Europe and no doubt will reach your shores. I have not visited Spain this year either. Does not mean I will not catch it.

You were welcome to catch if you expose yourself.
I did not make my comment thinking you were chatting me up.

Sounds like we're doomed. Let's throw a big national block party and go out in style.

Do you need help with the Government responsibilities ? All flights from overseas ( and overland) are under federal oversight with state assist Outside of the security check points. . What do you think the TSA and the FAA are ? . Border agents are federal employees. All interstate and foreign travel have federal oversight.

He allowed two months of travelers to flood in from Europe to LaGuardia And aNd Kennedy and LAX on the west coast from other countries without oversight and quarantine. How hard is this to understand ?

This will go down in history as the most mismanaged response to a pandemic EVER. We’ve had them before and they minimally or never reached our shores. Trump is a fking failure in nearly everything he touches.

And Feds are bound by treaties and trade agreements as well as alliances. They tend to walk softly when stepping on those. You know who's fault this **** was/is? China's.

    That’s silly.
Treaties also include mutual agreements on how to handle diseases . Geesus, it was us who helped spread other diseases throughout the world.
As soon as travelers left China to go to Europe and elsewhere, including Americans, it was everyone’s responsibility. We have quarantined people for decades from countries with epidemics.

It’s kind of silly to think a pandemic is not a national defense priority. It is, ALWAYS has been. Trump tossed out the pandemic play book used by previous presidents. He allowed the pandemic team to be disbanded that work in and with infected countries. Trump is incompetent.

Trump likes to whine about supplies from Obama being low. He had three years of his “ great economy” to fix that. He didn’t. He slashed everything.

And the President stepped up and fought it after it became apparent he needed to. Pelosi was still eating fried rice in China Town and telling folks to come on down.

Surprisingly enough, Obama didn't have anything to do with this pandemic either. Stay focused, it was China!

You need to stay focused. I know what the Fed and not the states are responsible for. If we were attacked by China militarily, then any president of the US has obligation not to roll over and whine and do everything to defend the populous.
We expected Obama to have a plan and we expected him to turn it over to Trump. Then, we expected in a pandemic, like any “invasion”; to not whine, but be leader and defend us. It’s not New York as you seem to think, to defend the US vs a pandemic invasion, it’s the Fed.

I’m not defending Obama if he failed with Ebola and was a whiny little bitch and not taking responsibility ...why are we defending Trump for being one ?

No he didn’t. By his own admission, he said it was deadly but chose not to lead, but spread lies under the guise of what, not having a panic ? Like any doctor will tell you that you have cancer instead of hiding it so you can’t prepare and engage in the fight. Trump is ridiculous. He’s no leader. Leaders don’t lie every time he opens his mouth. He’s the most untrustworthy public official ever.
