Acquire every mans sperm, freeze it and store it in a giant bank, then give every man a vasectomy. Guys would free to get it whenever they're ready to have a baby and would just impregnate the women with it. That would eliminate this whole controversy, no unplanned pregnancies, no abortions, no sacred children lost. Help keep the population down too. Problem solved, please delete this forum category now.

What happens when we have a massive power failure and all of it thaws?

How about no? Sterilizing populations is more acceptable than terminating the growth of groups of cells? Are you kidding?

    (*)(*)(*)(*)ing ridiculous.

And what about those who do not want vasectomy?

The same thing that happens to pregnant women who don't want a baby----they get one anyway. (That's the right-wing way.)

Not exactly. If they don't want a baby, and don't take the risks that we all know lead to pregnancy, they don't get a baby!

That is the right wind way.

Can you read, Whaler, or are so eager to respond you just don't? The post clearly says "pregnant women". Oh, and BTW, the "right-wing way" is for the woman to sneak off to the abortion clinic when she has an unwanted pregnancy, then she can be back on the protest line the next day chanting "abortion is murder."

Everybody male gets a vasectomy yes, it's a pretty well painless and quick procedure, nothing changes except your ability to make a child. You can have your sperm when you want which would only be when your ready to have a child. It's not permanent either you can always get a reversal if you need more sperm. It's just a safe way to guarantee that a child is always wanted. Life otherwise is the same, you just have complete control over who get's knocked up, obviously the women has to accept it also. It's a method of controlling the population, which lies at the heart of all our problems

Works for me. Where do I sign up?

    Vasectomies are reversible.

You can't count on it, some reversals don't work.

If contraception is used, then I would say, the woman is impregnated without her permission.

Not always. Some can be reversed, others can't. Its the luck of the draw.

I would say that doesn't hold up to even a little bit of scrutiny. Everyone knows contraception is not 100% risk free.

So in other words, if you don't want kids, don't have sex.

Might be better to become a nun, then.

Those people haven't reached the age where they can say they have avoided death. Nobody yet has achieved that, say age 200.

Getting a bit off topic. A vasectomy works pretty well 100% of the time, and even reversals have a good success rate. The point is you shouldn't need a reversal, you'll have your baby making material already. I don't understand does this not eliminate the problem that everyone in this forum is concerned about? You would have no more unplanned pregnancies, no unwanted children, no abortions ever again. For the small price of freezing a bunch of sperm, isn't it worth it? Unless there's a power outage for 4 days straight, which never happens, the sperm would not have an opportunity to thaw and go to waste. It seems like it should be a good trade off, it puts to rest the issue, does it not?

Scary as it may sound, but, genetically, death is avoidable. There are a few animals on earth that never die, unless by illness, starvation, or getting eaten. One example of such an animal is the sea star.

Is there anyone in he world who would want to avoid death though? Imagine the dictator of your country is immortal and puts you in jail. Then if you can't kill him, you shall hope you die to get out. (Only an example.)

There is a possible other solution too. Reduce the life span of people instead of increasing it by medication. This is that kept Europe's medaeval population low enough.

    Pretty well?

Vasectomy is not 100 per cent effective.

Yeah sorry, 99.93% effective. Why are you arguing about such minute details? Is it to distract from the main point?
