No, I'm not. I don't see any of my progressive friends glued to radio or TV getting their hate fix, but it's a common condition for my conservative friends.

The guy that started this tread clearly hates all things leftist, even though he can't define what leftist is. 90% of his post begin like this one, posting a quote from some left hating rag. There is NOTHING comparable from the left.

 

I've been commenting that everyone is acting like how you described in post #3 of this thread. There is extreme division in America, right now. Are you concerned?

I understand. Most non-libertarians don't have a clue what authoritarianism means. OK, are you concerned there is quite likely gonna be an upheaval of our gov't? OK, are you concerned that one side (who doesn't care about personal freedoms) is more than willing to eliminate personal freedoms if there's an upheaval of our gov't?

Note that being libertarian and being a Libertarian are distinctly different things.

What do you specifically mean by “upheaval of govt”? I want to make sure I understand what you’re referring to.
Why do you assume I’m not libertarian? Why do you think you know what I stand for? My political philosophy is about personal freedoms. Want to own guns? Go for it. Want to worship whichever god you believe in? Have at it. Want to marry someone of the same sex? Enjoy. You do you…I’ll do me. I won’t tell you what you can do and you don’t tell me what I can do. Cool?

 

George Floyd riots...Riot on the capitol...Those type of upheavals of gov't.

Now, the George Floyd riots upheaval of the gov't was allowed but the riot at the capital upheaval of gov't wasn't allowed. Care to venture why that was?

 

Why do you say the Capitol riot wasn’t allowed to happen? It in fact did happen, did it not???

 

My choice of words may have been suspect. What I should've posted was the Floyd riots upheaval of our gov't didn't receive any political backlash but the riot on the capitol upheaval of gov't did receive political backlash (and gov't prosecution). Why was that do you think?

 

You’re asking why an attack on our Capitol was treated differently than people vandalizing and rioting in the streets? Well, clearly it was to destroy America.

Democrats do not want to "destroy America" and never have. They want to save it from those who are so frightened of progress and change that they become unduly angry, and feel they must point their middle fingers at what they see as the opposition.

Liberals are your fellow Americans. They are not the enemy, merely the majority. I wish the right were capable of dealing with that.

 

To be fair, the Left has its fair share of people who think conservatives are the enemy.
I wish both sides would come to grips and realize neither side is the enemy. Both sides have different viewpoints for sure, but none of these viewpoints are to “destroy” America.

 

Aren't all authoritarians using the excuse "I am fed up with...."? Since when, in this counrty, has one persons anger with rules been a proper excuse for controling another persons life. Since when has it become proper to argue my friends crimes are not as bad as your friends crime so myfriends should be left alone, or my rights are being abused so your rights need to accomidate mine? Only athoritarians make such arguments.

 

Far left progressives do not represent the majority of liberals any more than the Proud Boys represent the majority of conservatives. The right seems to have no rational perspective on this.

Note that even the Progressive Caucus among the House Democrats hung together all week long, no drama, just consistent on voting for Jeffries, who they have already agreed to as their leader. They set a good example of unity, while Republicans nearly burned the House down with their inane theatrics.

 

What do the Libertarians have to do with this? You do seem to be all over the place with your posts here, just sayin'.

 

An interesting subject to explore is the RWA Score. It traces to the work of Bob Altemeyer and Theodor Adorno. One of the things which comes out of it is the percent of American voters who score high on the test and the party/group to which they belong.

Another interesting subject is the shift of deep south states from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party in terms of majority of voter affiliation. It did not come about without causation.

You're repeating that. Is that your hammer, or your anvil? Or are you actually a Librrtarian? I could be wrong, but your posts don't seem in keeping with that party's general ideology.

Please give us all an explanation of your understanding of the term "authoritarian." Your posts indicate that you know what it means, so perhaps you could kindly "put up or shut up."

 

So, instead of talking about policy and offering why their political policies are better, they are just using fear mongering and name calling while preaching to the choir. Yeah, keep doing that and Independents will reject you in 2024 just as they did in 2020.
