Unfortunately, it sounds like a 'progressive', er, a neocommunist in the dem party or neocon.in the GOP.

The destroying of America from the Floyd riots or the destroying of America from the capitol riots?

Neither is “destroying” America. Any other questions?

Why do non-libertarians use the word authoritarian all the time (to describe Trump, for example) when they have no clue what authoritarian means?

Libertarians (I'm not referring the party) are more a live and let live kinda people. Authoritarians, on the other hand are more a 'it's my way or the highway' kinda people. Libertarians (again, I'm not referring to the party) compromise and authoritarians don't.

Sidenote: However, when libertarians get totally fed up with things, they can become authoritarian like the stalling of McCarthy as speaker of the house, for example. When libertarians act authoritarian (the opposite of their ideology), that's a sure sign that everyone in the US is angry.

No, I'm not libertarian. I'm centrist. I'm also a voting member of the GOP. My dad was libertarian, er, a right libertarian but he voted for and insisted he was a part of the GOP.

Being libertarian (a verb) and being a Libertarian (proper noun, the party) are completely different things.
For example, Trump is right libertarian and (I don't know any actual Right Libertarian candidates) is Libertarian.

An authoritarian constantly uses the mantra 'it's my way or the highway.' The opposite of authoritarian, a libertarian, uses the mantra live and let live, for example...My favorite one is cynical: 'you can be as stupid as you want to be'.

I haven’t seen many on this forum who use the mantra live and let live.

LOL-- a former Marxist: that speaks to his judgement. Sounds like a total nutjob; makes perfect sense that he would become a "conservative."

If that is the whole of his credentials, backing the value of his opinion-- that he is one of our "leading conservatives"-- then this hyperpartisan, propagandist fiction, is completely dismissible (even with the XXJefferson#51, "exactly right" seal of approval).

Tell us, again-- as you have, on other threads-- how it is the Democrats, who are the spewers of hate-speech, and how the Republican disagreements with the Dems, are strictly based on philosophy, on different policy perspectives, and are not at all personal.

This is only more proof-- of which there is a surfeit, in your threads-- of which is the Party of Demonizing its opponents.

I’m that way until I feel that my views or lifestyle are being threatened by the secular progressive fascists…

There was no hate speech in what he said referring to the hate speech from the other side, only the truth.

I did not ask what libertarians were, nor did I ask about their ideology. I asked what they had to do with this issue.

It does sound like you are not entirely clear on authoritarianism.

Unfortunately, it is more normal today than in the past on both sides. I would rather have political parties try to "sell" their political policies without name-calling. Generally speaking, the DNC does a much better job whether one agrees or not with those policies.

Although there was some property damage, most of the protests were peaceful according to law enforcement and other agencies. but social protests have occurred and this rhetoric was used when Martin Luther King was protesting in the 1950s and 60s.

Libertarians usually don't complain when people think differently than them. Horowitz is an example of a libertarian (some call them conservatives) who complains when people think differently than them. This is a sure sign of a deep divide all along American politics.
