House Republicans introduce bill to block Palestinian refugees from US ‘to protect America’s securit

This is a smart but probably futile move. Democrats are already calling for us to take in some Palestinian refugees, Mayorkas won't enforce this even if this bill passes, and all the Palestinians have to do is show up at our border and they're in anyway. Thanks Joe.

I believe if we take in Palestinians we won't know if we're getting Hamas terrorists or non violent people. We don't need to infect our country with Palestinian thoughts and beliefs. Let the Muslim countries step up to the plate and take as many as they want, but from what I've read today they don't want potential terrorists in their country, either.

 

No this is dumb. For starters, there is no way Palestinians are getting out of Gaza or the West Bank. Not even Egypt is allowing them through, not even those who have US passports. This is just Republicans using fear instead of rational thought with an anti-immigrant stance.

 

After Hamas is defeated and things calm down, the fighters who weren't captured or killed will pretend to be regular people and eventually get out of that hellhole. Look at Tlaib and Omar, even though Tlaib was born here she's a Hamas sympathizer, so imagine what a person from Gaza would be like. And Omar would probably destroy this country if given a chance. She got out of Somalia but still thinks like a Muslim from Somalia.

Let's look at this logically. Say Israel totally destroys HAMAS. Okay, that means no one or very few people who supported the group right? It also means the conflict is over and most of the Palestinians can go back home. That also means refugee or asylee status will no longer be applicable for massive use in the US. And it also means any information will come from Israel and/or Egypt to minimize any risk for security reasons no matter what immigration process is used.

I understand what progressives are stating, but they too, like conservatives, are using emotions, not logic.

Do you think democrats are going over the top by wanting Palestinians to come here? Will you write to them and tell them to say no? Once you find out they said yes then you're going to agree with them citing diversity and equity.

 

I never said that. Egypt has completely closed their border not allowing out, not even US citizens, which means any talk of refugees is premature right now.

 

It’s looking like a lot of Palestinians don’t have a home to go back to.

 

Once the hostilities cease, there will need to be a plan to rebuild without Israel allowing more settlements in the region and possibly UN security in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Luckily there are over 20 Arab countries they can go to.

And of course we should have the right to ban anyone we don't want from coming into our country. Duh.

 

Presumably this bill, if passed, would limit immigration for more than the next few days.
